Happy National Apprenticeship Week! Meet Caprice Pryor who served as an apprentice with TranSystems working on #CREATEProgramChicago projects Forest Hill Flyover (P3) and 71st St. grade separation (GS19). Caprice shared the following about his experience: "My experience with TranSystems has been an educational and rewarding one. I’m getting exposed to so many different aspects of rail road and construction in general that I have only seen in books. The knowledge I'm accumulating with TranSystems and the CREATE project has been Immeasurable. Meeting Mike Evans, (Rail Leader), has changed mine and my family's life in such a positive way. Mike saw in me what I wasn't able to see myself. I met Mike while learning the trades and training to become a carpenter. Mike showed me that "there's more to building than just hitting a nail." He took me under his wing and has been exposing me to different roles of engineering since. He's encouraged me to return to school and earn a degree in applied sciences which I'm currently working on now. My educational pursuits has inspired members of my family to return to school as well."
