The Michigan Department of Transportation required the reconstruction of a 24.5 mile section of Interstate 69. Michigan Paving & Materials, A CRH Company, designed, engineered and managed the project in a third of the time originally planned by the Department. 750,000 tons of asphalt was produced and placed. In addition, 425,000 tons of existing concrete pavement was recycled via a portable crushing plant on site and repurposed as aggregate base material. Yesterday I visited CRH’s office in Dublin where I joined a festive townhall event. It was a great opportunity to meet with our people working across many of the corporate functions that support our business. As 2024 draws to a close we spent some time reflecting on all that we have achieved this year, due in no small part to the talented people who work in CRH. We discussed our recent Q3 earnings and performance highlights, as well as focusing, as we always do, on the importance of safety in our business. I was delighted to participate in a fireside chat with Isabel Foley where we covered everything from CRH’s entrepreneurial spirit, how we develop and nurture future talent, to our favorite holiday traditions. A really enjoyable session and I look forward to spending more time with our people in 2025. For now, wishing everyone a very happy and safe holiday season.
