About us
Crime Stoppers International (CSI) is the umbrella organisation for more than 800 Crime Stoppers chapters worldwide. An independent, not-for-profit entity, CSI is governed by a Board of Directors comprising representatives from six continents, with day-to-day operations spearheaded by an experienced management team. Our mission is "To mobilize the world to report crime anonymously", and our guarantee is 'when someone shares information with Crime Stoppers, their identity will never be exposed'. Our national and local Crime Stoppers programs form a sophisticated global network to educate communities about transnational crime, and provide platforms and channels for citizens to anonymously share information about crime and criminal activity. Crime Stoppers International focuses on encouraging communities to report transnational crime and criminal activity linked to illicit trade, human trafficking, environmental and wildlife crime, financial crime, cybercrime and international fugitives. Our work involves helping law enforcement to disrupt serious and organised crime networks; developing and executing global anti-crime campaigns; educating and encouraging communities to share information they have; and delivering capacity building and advocacy initiatives. Our activities support a number of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and targets in collaboration with our key partners and stakeholders, including INTERPOL, UNODC (the United Nations Office on Drugs & Crime), the Global Coalition to Fight Financial Crime, the International Cyber Threat Task Force (ICTTF), World Free Zones Organization, IPTI (International Police Training Institute), IATA (International Air Transport Association), World Wildlife Fund, Airline Ambassadors International, IIPCIC (International Intellectual Property Crime Investigator College) and more. FATF Consultation on RBA: - The GCFFC have submitted a response to the FATF consultation on proposed revisions to R.1/INR.1/INR.10/INR.15 which in particular focusses on the Risk Based Approach. The submitted paper is also available on the GCFFC website - see comments for link. As the paper states - “Whilst we support the changes proposed, we believe that these changes alone are unlikely to have a material effect. In particular we believe that significant improvements to the FATF Standards governing country National Risk Assessments are a necessary precondition to improving the risk based approach”. We double down on this precondition and explain how the current risk based approach is not working effectively and has consequences for financial inclusion. We make specific proposals and drafting editing suggestions which we feel would prove invaluable and should be taken into account in the 5th round of country evaluations. Thanks to the many expert contributions to this submission including from: Alison Clew (USA), Angela Harbour (UK), Andrew Chow (Singapore), Denisse Rudich (UK), Dr Sorcha MacLeod (Denmark), Greta Barkauskienė (Lithuania), Jean-Michel Rousseau (Switzerland), John Cusack (UK), Julia Chin 陈碧茹 (Singapore), Karen Nitschke (Australia), Kateryna Boguslavska (Switzerland), Matthew Long (Luxembourg), Michael Levi (UK), Michal Gromek (Poland), Nicolas Choules-Burbidge (Canada), Phale M. Our cities are glowing orange tonight! Over 70 landmarks across Australia are lighting up orange in solidarity to raise awareness about domestic and family violence, marking the final day of the #16DaysOfActivism against Gender-based Violence. If you’re in the city tonight, take a moment to visit these illuminated landmarks and join the call for change. From the iconic International Towers at Barangaroo to the bustling Canberra Centre, landmarks across major cities and regional areas—including 120 Collins Street in Melbourne, Queensland Plaza in Brisbane, and Mandurah Forum in Western Australia—are all shining a light on the need for change. A very big thank you to the Champions of Change Coalition and the Property Council of Australia for championing this cause. Together, we’re working toward a world where women and girls are #SafeEverywhereAlways. #EndViolenceAgainstWomen #EndGBV #16Days #WorkplaceSafety #ChampionsOfChangeCoalition #HumanRightsDay #GenderEquality

Do you recognize this woman? In November 2003, the body of a woman was found on the side of a rural road in Malgrat de Mar, Spain. Multiple wounds had been inflicted to the woman’s body and face. The woman’s origin is unknown. She could be of Bengali origin because of the tattoo and bracelets she was wearing. Further details of the case 🔗 ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dY_iq9Hn #IdentifyMe

I wouldn’t normally put a ‘wanted’ notice on LinkedIn, but happy to make an exception for registered sex offender Paul Bowen, who is urgently wanted by Victoria Police, after failing to report to authorities. Known to frequent the Ballarat area, amongst other Melbourne suburbs, and also South Australia. Please share if appropriate.
