Preventing Animal Outages on Overhead Lines for 20 Years!

About us

Animal related power outages cost billions of dollars in downtime and damages each year in the United States, and are one of the most common causes of outages internationally. With this in mind, we created products specifically designed to humanely deter squirrels and other animals (i.e., critters) from accessing electric power and data communication lines, substations, and transformers resulting in reduced loss of life for animals while keeping power and/or information flowing safely. Our products are unique in that the animals are not trapped or zapped - they get frustrated they can’t pass the barriers and go somewhere else! Line Guard acts as a barrier to stop animals such squirrels, rats, rodents, snakes, sloths, and even monkeys, from running across the electric powerlines and data lines and gaining access to live switches, transformers, and substations. Additionally, Line Guard is a great deterrent to squirrels and rodents getting into your home’s attic and causing additional damage to your roof or attic as well as possibly causing a power outage. Pole Guard blocks animals from climbing power poles thereby protecting any pole mounted equipment at the top of the pole including access to overhead lines and connected equipment. Pole Guard uses the same rollers as Line Guard which are mounted around specially designed plates that are secured to the pole. Since Critter Guard products don’t cover up special equipment, when regular maintenance is called for on that equipment, the line workers never have to worry about Critter Guard’s products being in the way. Easy installation, and long service life (even in blazing sun, ice, rain, snow, and wind) are key attributes of Critter Guard products.
