 A #CrouseLittleFighters update… “Elliot was born as a preemie at 4lbs 15oz. He was born at 37 weeks after my water broke at 35 weeks. At about 25 weeks we found out that Elliot had a genetic heart condition called coarctation of aorta and that the left side of his heart was smaller than the right side. For weeks prior to giving birth we were preparing to go to Rochester for Elliot to undergo open heart surgery for his condition. Every cardiology appointment kept confirming his condition. Once Elliot was born, the NICU team took him right away so they could perform the sonogram of his heart and administer medication as necessary. Our time with him right after being born was limited because of this, but we knew it was what had to be done.  After his 8 day stay in the NICU and 5 sonograms later, they confirmed that, miraculously, his heart condition was no longer present. There is no medical reason for how it healed itself. They told us he really was a miracle case and to enjoy our healthy boy. Elliot is now 9 months and as happy as can be! Our employees aren't just the best in healthcare…they're pretty creative, too! Today we're hosting more than 20 employee-vendors who sold their home décor, holiday crafts, baked goods and more. Also for sale is the Clocktower Cookbook, with exclusive recipes from Crouse employees. Raffle items were also donated, with proceeds to benefit the Crouse Clocktower Restoration Campaign.

International Volunteer Day is celebrated on December 5 as a way to recognize and promote volunteers throughout the world.
