This #BlackHistoryMonth, we’re sharing authentic #BHM campaigns that inspire us, such as Philly’s Little Free(dom) Library. Last February, Visit Philadelphia filled little libraries (similar to the ones you might see outside homes here in Buffalo) with more than 1,500 banned books by Black authors, encouraging residents and visitors alike to give important titles like “Beloved” by Toni Morrison and “Ghost Boys” by Jewell Parker Rhodes a read. This initiative was so successful that it has expanded to even more heritage months and observances throughout the year! Learn the full story here: https://bit.ly/3ECecfF

From Pride Month to #BlackHistoryMonth, there is a fine line for brands when it comes to honoring these special periods authentically and respectfully. This February, we’ll be sharing #BHM campaigns that we believe successfully amplify Black voices and pay tribute to the disparities that are such a major part of our country’s history. Our first feature is from PPK, a Tampa-based agency known for its pro bono business highlights. For BHM, they created a video promoting local speakeasy Madame Fortune Dessert + HiFi Parlour that shares the little-known story of and pays tribute to Madame Fortune Taylor, a Black woman pivotal to Tampa’s development after the Civil War. On #MLKDay we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. while acknowledging that there is still so much work to be done. Last year, members of our leadership team were humbled to visit the Equal Justice Initiative and Legacy Sites in Montgomery, Alabama and learn more about the history of racial inequality in our country. And how we can make a difference. Whether it’s doing some learning of your own or becoming active in your community against injustice, we encourage you to find ways to choose love today and every day.

Working in social media might seem like it’s all about making fun videos – but there’s so much more to it. When we launched our TikTok channel nearly three years ago, we poured countless hours into creating hundreds of videos. The result? A growing community of followers, thousands of views and plenty of laughs. And that’s just for us! For our clients, we’ve launched and managed more than five TikTok accounts, delivering award-winning results along the way. While the future of TikTok remains uncertain, one thing’s for sure: we’re ready to tackle whatever new social platform comes next! #socialmedia #tiktokban #socialvideo
