Crown Beverages and Waste Pays Announce Strategic Partnership to Enhance PET Waste Collection We are excited to announce our strategic partnership with Waste Pays, a pioneer in sustainable waste management solutions, to significantly enhance the collection and recycling of Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) waste in #Uganda, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable environment. While responding to consumer demand for refreshment products on-the-go, the volumes of PET products sold in Uganda and consequently #PETwaste generated has increased over the years. Cognizant of the emerging impact of plastic waste to climate change and inline with #PepsiCo International’s !#PEP+ (PEP Positive) agenda, #CrownBeveragesLimited is supporting the #PETwaste management by boosting the #PETwaste collection efforts of leading #PETCollectors and #PETRecyclers in Uganda. Launching this drive that will go to many cities across Uganda, Hilda Mbabazi, CEO of Crown Beverages Limited said, “We are thrilled to partner with Waste Pays to tackle the pressing issue of plastic waste. This collaboration is a significant step towards our goal of creating a more sustainable future. The partnership with #Wastepays in Jinja will boost their collection efforts, as Franc Kamugyisha, CEO of #WastePays says, “Waste Pays is excited to join forces with Crown Beverages Limited. Together, we can make a substantial impact on PET waste collection and recycling, benefiting both the environment and our communities.

Had the pleasure of traveling to both #Uganda and #Kenya last week. Uganda needs no introduction—it's a formidable market for #PepsiCo, led by Hilda Mbabazi CEO of Crown Beverages in Uganda. We are stronger than ever there, rooted in our deep understanding of consumers' needs and our commitment to bringing new innovations to the market. I'm thrilled that the newly launched 7UP is so well-loved, evident from our market leadership position in the Lemon and Lime segment in a very short period. We then crossed over to Kenya, another key and new market, led by Paddy Muramiirah, CEO of Crown Beverages in Kenya. This brings significant market capability, leadership, and investments into what will be a state-of-the-art plant. It is amazing to see the new #Pepsi branding and marketing on the streets of Kenya. Our consumers across all generations are already loving the new flavors Pepsi brings. Exciting times ahead as we continue to grow and innovate in this vibrant market! Thank you to our esteemed bottling partner, Crown Beverages, their board members, and directors, and the #PepsiCo Teams. Together, we are building a winning legacy in #Africa! #Innovation #MarketGrowth #ThirstyForMore Paul Andersen Tyrone Reis Marius Vorster Lethabo Tsatsi Alaa Kamal Raylene Barlow Bongi Mofomate Boitumelo Malapile Meghna Laxman MacDonald Fern Pais Sonia Meireles Raymond Onwude Obabueki Aigbogun

Last week, PepsiCo International's West East and Central Africa (WECA) team, led by WECA CEO Paul Andersen and Senior Franchise Director Bronwyn Patten, embarked on a strategic visit to Uganda. This was an immersive experience that saw the team engage directly with stakeholders at every level of the trade spectrum — from retailers to distributors and ultimately, the consumers themselves. Also in attendance was Raylene Barlow, the Brand Manager for Beverages in WECA. Such engagements are pivotal in PepsiCo's commitment to not only maintain but also enhance its market presence in Uganda. By fostering direct dialogues and listening attentively to the needs and aspirations of local partners and consumers, PepsiCo reaffirms its dedication to delivering products that resonate deeply with the Ugandan market.
