🌟 Today, we're continuing to celebrate the exceptional Colorado Water Fellows, CSU Cohort, this time from CSU's College of Engineering! 📸 #2: Aleah Hahn, EIT was raised on the shores of Lake Michigan, sparking a passion for the human-water interface. After completing undergraduate schooling at Michigan State University, she moved to Oregon to complete a master's degree studying the effects of river restoration on juvenile salmon at Oregon State University in Marine Resource Management. Currently, Aleah is pursuing a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at Colorado State University under the guidance of Dr. Ryan Morrison and Dr. Ellen Wohl. Her research views rivers as a coupled human riverscape, with a particular focus on hydraulics through log jams to improve floodplain connectivity. Her passion for water extends beyond school as she is an active member of the Larimer County Dive and Rescue Team. 📸 #3: Gabriella Lockey is a senior civil engineering student at Colorado State University, pursuing a certificate in entrepreneurship. Their passion lies in water resources, accessibility, and sustainable infrastructure. She has conducted research on rivers and dams in the CSU Hydraulics Lab and is currently working on stormwater projects addressing flood mitigation in Fort Collins. She looks forward to pursuing graduate studies in coastal engineering to continue expanding their expertise in protecting and preserving ecosystems. 📸 #4: Nay Win Myint is a dedicated civil engineer with extensive experience in water supply, sanitation, and project management. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Civil Engineering, focusing on water resources planning and management at Colorado State University. Prior to this, Nay Win worked with an international NGO, leading projects to provide safe drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene solutions for marginalized communities in Myanmar. During the summer, he participated in the Colorado Science and Engineering Policy Fellowship as a legislative intern, working alongside Senators Chris Hansen and Cleave Simpson to develop a policy on groundwater monitoring for heavy metals in the San Luis Valley.
