National Human Trafficking Awareness Day draws attention to the ongoing issue of modern-day slavery in the form of human trafficking. Human trafficking is the exploitation of persons for labor, domestic servitude, or commercial sex. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime calculated a 25% increase in the number of children trafficked between 2019 and 2022 due to increased incidents of forced labor. The National Human Trafficking Hotline connects victims and survivors to support services to get help and stay safe. If you or someone you know is a victim of human trafficking, or if you a tip about a potential trafficking situation, contact the National Human Trafficking Hotline by calling 1-888-373-7888 (TTY: 711) or texting 233733. #humantraffickingawarenessday #ctchro #chrodiversityequityinclusion

A "statute of limitations" is the time period by law that an individual has to file a complaint. At the CHRO, the statute of limitations is 300 days to file a complaint of discrimination in employment, housing, credit transactions, or places of public accommodations. That's just under 10 months, but the exact number of days matters. Don't delay, call us today. #CTCHRO #statuteoflimitations #antidiscrimination #civilrights #chrodiversityequityinclusion
