The European Council has recently approved the Listing Act, a legislative package that repeals the Listing Directive and reviews several #Regulations covering prospectuses, market abuse, MiFIR y MiFID II, while introducing a minimum level of harmonization in regulating multiple vote share in the #EU. The aim is to simplify the listing rules and make access to EU public capital markets more attractive for companies, particularly for SMEs. Our lawyers from the Knowledge and Innovation Group provide a detailed analysis of the provisions that will enter into force this coming December 5, and that Spain, as the rest of the Member States, must incorporate into its legal system before June 5, 2026. How is the paradigm of legal analysis in #competition changing? Which tools are available to identify and prevent #market distortions? How can companies be more proactive in #risk prevention? What should the role of #enforcers be in #technology? These were some of the issues addressed in the international conference “Conversations on Competition” held recently at our auditorium in Lisbon.   Pedro Marques Bom, co-coordinator partner in our #Antitrust and #Competition Practice, summarizes in this video the importance of this conference as a way to promote dialogue and contribute ideas to a world that is shifting in terms of #economy, regulatory environment and #geopolitical landscape.   Carlos Menor, legal director and compliance officer at Renault Group Spain, highlighted the practical part of this conference, in which authorities and professionals from several jurisdictions could exchange opinions and foster dialogue. On October 23, we hosted at our Lisbon auditorium a joint event organized by our European Network, which includes Chiomenti, #Cuatrecasas, Gide Loyrette Nouel and Gleiss Lutz. The event, with the title “Navigating the European legal framework of the digital economy,” brought together over 200 company executives responsible for the legal area, both in person and online. The event provided an in-depth exploration of the latest #legal and regulatory developments shaping the #DigitalEconomy within the European Union, including the #AIAct, #DigitalServicesAct (DSA) and #DataAct. It aimed to equip #BusinessLeaders, legal professionals, and stakeholders with the knowledge necessary to navigate the complexities of the digital economy. Joana Mota Agostinho, coordinating partner in our #technologies, #DigitalMedia, and #DataProtection area, remarked, “The exchange between colleagues specializing in #IntellectualProperty and information technology was very enriching, allowing us to learn how different countries and our colleagues are analyzing the latest digital regulation package and advising their clients, as well as their main challenges”. Sónia Queiroz Vaz, partner in our #data protection, intellectual and industrial property, and trade secrets area, added, “We had the opportunity to hear from Jan Szczodrowski, member of the legal service of the European Commission.
