Last week’s Cultiva annual meeting was a success! We hosted our team in beautiful Chelan, WA to conduct a review of 2024 and discuss our plans for next year. Besides these productive conversations, our team had the opportunity to visit orchards treated with our products Parka and Kallur and watch Sugarbee apples run through a packing line. A dinner cruise on the lake, an excursion to Stehekin and a bowling tournament capped off a week of shared success and bonding as a team!

🌳 Environmental extremes, including heat stress, are some of the most significant threats to tree health, growth and production that can lead to disorders like sunburn, cracking and russeting. With Park’s superior defense starting at the plant cuticle, growers can maximize marketable yields, produce high-quality fruit and build resilience in their orchard beyond a single growing season. The role of the cuticle in post-harvest quality of fruits is a topic currently driving a lot of interest due to an increasing amount of research data that highlights its influence on a number of important traits that determine shelf life and storage potential. The cuticle influences water transpiration and fruit dehydration, susceptibility to rots, as well as pest and disorders. We’ve found that properties of the fruit cuticle keep evolving after harvest and have been shown to be highly responsive to the external conditions surrounding the fruit.” -Dr. Isabel Lara Ayala, Professor at Universitat de Lleida Explore Dr. Lara’s insights from her talk, “The Fruit Cuticle: A Post-harvest Perspective,” part of the 2024 Retailer Summit. https://lnkd.in/gG-tkSwM

Explore how the plant cuticle mitigates plant stress with research from Dr. Ashraf El-kereamy, Cooperative Extension Specialist and Director of Lindcove Research and Extension Center, University of California Riverside. His research reveals how the cuticle serves as a physical and physiological barrier against abiotic and biotic stress. Additionally, his findings suggest that applying Parka® prior to cold events could help improve cold tolerance in citrus. Find out more about Dr. El-Kereamy’s insights from his talk, “The Plant Leaf Cuticle: A Shield Against Abiotic Stress,” part of the 2024 Retailer Summit. https://lnkd.in/djUfuCXj
