Tessa Archibald, A20, VG21, MAPP program graduate, supports equine policy and rescues through her work at the Animal Welfare Institute and Homes for Horses Coalition. "MAPP is about thinking critically, hands-on skills, developing policy, writing fact sheets and op-eds, being able to see other people’s perspectives, and learning to communicate with stakeholders in a way that maintains your own position while learning from theirs. Realizing that just one voice can still make a difference for horses, I learned that from MAPP. " Tessa Archibald Read more: https://lnkd.in/etq4gi5w [📸: Tessa Archibald]

Dr. Ariana Hinckley-Boltax co-authors a research study to develop a prioritized list of clinical presentations in dogs, cats, and horses. The manuscript will be published in the Journal of Veterinary Medical Education to inform curriculum design and exam blueprinting. "Patients don’t walk in the door with a diagnosis most of the time. Students need to learn how to work up and reason through problems. Designing curriculum around clinical presentations requires immense collaboration across disciplines to integrate content in that authentic way—it’s hard to do. This study is a good step in the direction of inspiring institutions to do that collaboration. If learning is hard, it’s probably effective learning. If teaching is hard, it’s probably effective teaching, so I think that collaborative presentation-based approach is worth the effort."
