CEO at Curated Connections | Why aren't more conversations happening in your community?

Today’s the day I share the biggest update to Curated Connections since our launch 10 months ago - we’ve added a completely new MEMBER DIRECTORY tool to our product! 🎉 It is crazy to me that all the big community platform companies are trying to force AI into their roadmap before creating a member directory that simply allows their members to connect with each other. • “how do i find out other Partnership Professionals who work in B2B SaaS?” • “I’m visiting Singapore for a week. how can i see other designers who live in Singapore?” • “i would love to help other founders here. how can i learn what they’re are working on?” i’m sure you’ve seen these questions as a community creator. Lack of a searchable directory with rich member profiles is arguably the #1 hindrance of engagement in any community. The best you could do to solve this problem was to create a public table in Notion or Airtable. But that came with its own headaches because these tools weren’t meant for communities. That changes today. We’ve created a directory tool that is designed from the ground up to spark engagement in communities. Attaching some images here to show you what it looks like. This is step 2 of our grand plan to become the “Connection Engine” for communities: 1: create a simple but powerful matchmaking tool 2: create a member directory tool designed to spark connections Oh and did i say, both of these are bundled in a single subscription of $29/month. Yep! We’re hell-bent on our “underdog pricing model”. --- We’re slowly rolling out access to this directory to the people on the waitlist over the month of June. So if you want to give your members the directory that they’ve been asking for, sign up here - https://lnkd.in/gt3-RH4h

    • Image that shows the warm email functionality of the directory tool
    • Image that shows that data can be imported into the directory by uploading csv file
    • Image that shows a feature which allows community creators to "open doors" to services they use for events calendar, recordings etc
    • Image that shows that directory tool works inside Slack as well

CEO at Curated Connections | Why aren't more conversations happening in your community?

Curated Connections now has an official Slack app that is 100% approved by Slack! 🎉 Even though we had an unofficial Slack integration from day 1, this is a big deal for us because this stamp of credibility will allow us to connect members of so many workspaces - at both companies and communities. If your remote company has been thinking of ways to forge meaningful connections between the team, there has never been a better time to try Curated Connections. Unlike the other "coffee" and "donut" apps available in the Slack marketplace, we focus on curating meaningful connections. This means your automated connections won't lose the human touch. Just search for "curated" in your Slack app store and you'll find us. ☕️

Published a case study with one of our biggest customers yet. 🎉 • Community of 5500+ members • Running multiple 1-on-1 matching programs • Connecting 100s people each month Abbey (Burtis) Peterson is one of the most detail-oriented community operators I've ever met. That's why getting HTN successfully onboarded to Curated Connections was a major win! Some of the highlights from the case study: • "As our members continue to form meaningful connections with one another, it makes the community stickier." • "We’ve heard from 20+ members directly that they prefer this platform over other platforms we’ve tried." • "The Curated Connections team is highly receptive to feedback and quickly incorporates it. based on popular demand, we are introducing the ability to create Knowledge Exchange programs in Curated Connections. Enabled by one simple new match rule setting. You can now create programs that match one person’s expertise with another person’s needs - on autopilot! This allows for some powerful matches on autopilot like: • Cofounder dating programs where Marketers are matched with Programmers • Knowledge exchanges where you match people with complementary interests and experience • Industry expert networks where members can meet other members who have expertise solving problems Because many of us are one really powerful connection away from achieving something miraculous. Online communities have the power to make this miracle happen.

    Community and Operations Executive

My ride or dies for community management... Up Club is made up of a mad web of automations and applications. It's easy to get lost sometimes in this web. But I wanted to share some apps we couldn't run our community without. 🔗 Zapier: This is the holy grail, I will never stop appreciating this app so thank you Wade Foster and Mike Knoop for creating it! ✨ Luma: We used to host our Huddle Ups on a Google sheets....I'm embarrassed to say. Then we discovered Lu.ma and it's made the process of online events a breeze. Victor Pontis 🫂 Curated Connections: An app we're not currently using but still LOVE. It pairs you up with someone else in the community so you can get a buddy! Nityesh Agarwal 💬 Slack: The heart of the community is here, this is where our members can instantly connect with each other, ask all their marketing questions and get updates on all their membership features. I'm always on the lookout for apps that can make our lives easier, so PLEASE hit me with your community recommendations? Emilie Lauga, Rosie Sherry, Milly Tamati

"It's like LinkedIn had a baby with Tinder... but for your community" - we put that on our landing page! Front and center. That's honestly the easiest way for us to describe what Curated Connections does now. • Sending perfect 1-on-1 matches - that's the Tinder part • A searchable member directory with warm emails - that's the LinkedIn part Perfect landing page header doesn't exis...

CEO at Curated Connections | Why aren't more conversations happening in your community?

One of the largest paid newsletters just started using Curated Connections to create a new matchmaking program for their paid members every month! That's >5500 members. 1. This is such a cool way to increase retention for your paid membership. 2. They are stress testing our platforms and pointing out the little UI stuff that even we had neglected. It is such a cool feeling to have other people more invested in improving your product than you! ❤️

CEO at Curated Connections | Why aren't more conversations happening in your community?

It is crazy to me that community creators try to organise virtual networking events before creating a simple member directory that allows members to look up and connect with other members. A big reason for this is failure of the tools. If you use Slack or Discord as your community platform, you don't get this functionality. So you need to stitch a bunch of no-code tools...which gets messy fast. Therefore, I'm excited to announce that we are creating a tool in Curated Connections to solve this problem! 🎉 We are building a member directory tool that fosters connections b/w your members by allowing them to: • filter relevant members • read their profiles, goals and expertise • and best part, send them a warm email This is our second step to making Curated Connections the "Connection Engine" for communities. Tag someone who needs to create a member directory for their awesome community in the comments below. Or if that's you, DM me. I'm personally assisting the first 10 people set up a member directory.

Senior Community & Product Manager at Up World.

Being a community manager is hard work 😰 Being so close to your customers means that on a good day it's incredibly energising, rewarding and I feel lucky to count many of them as friends. But on a bad day it's relentless, overwhelming and too close to home... And most of us do it solo! (Although I'm lucky enough to have the best sidekick Olivia Pike). So adopting effective tools to boost your efforts and make your life easier is ESSENTIAL. Here are 3 tools that we use at Up World: 👩👩👧👦 Curated Connections - helps us to make valuable and relevant introductions between our members. It's a lot cheaper than the alternatives out there so was a great place for us to start. ⚡️ Zapier - I love you. I couldn't live without you. Ensures that all our tools, tech, data sources are talking to each other and allows us to automate a lot of our processes and onboarding. 💬 Slack - this is where our members can instantly connect with each other, ask all their marketing questions and get updates on all their membership features (events, mentor programmes etc). In the past we've tried Whatsapp groups and Hivebrite, and Slack has been the clear winner for us. What are your tips for staying sane on a bad day? Rosie Sherry, Lianna Swan, 🌀Milly Tamati

CEO at Curated Connections | Why aren't more conversations happening in your community?

Added a new testimonial to the Curated Connections website. This one is from a community we all love and admire - Generalist World! ❤️ Best part is the 2nd part of this testimonial that comes from one of GW's members. Because it gives me a solid answer to all the time someone asks me - "Why do I even need an automated networking program in my community?" Because if you want to thoughtfully build your community, you should design experiences even for the quiet ones. If you equate their inactivity with a lack of interest in meeting other people, you are going to miss the opportunity to serve the people who may need your community the most. --- P.S. More collabs incoming with Ece very soon!

    • "Generalist World members wanted more than just our lively speed networking events.

That's where Curated Connections swooped in, becoming our go-to app for sparking those
one-on-one chats that our community loves.

The moment we introduced it to the community, our most active members jumped right in! We recently levelled up to Pro, pairing our OGs with the newbies, as part of our
onboarding process.”

- Ece Kurtaraner, community @ Generalist World
    • "I enjoyed the Curated Connections trial!

It was great to meet some new generalists and allowed some one on one time which was wonderful.

My schedule hasn't allowed me to join any events in a while, and I miss those a lot, so this was a good stand in!" - Lucy, member @ Generalist World
