ICYMI: Cuyahoga County is set to benefit from nearly $19 million in state brownfield remediation grants, part of over $58 million awarded statewide by Gov. Mike DeWine. The largest projects include: ➡️ Woodhill Homes: $10M for environmental remediation to build 370 housing units. ➡️ East Bank Flats: $1.13M+ for environmental remediation to enable 100 apartments + retail development. ➡️ Lakewood Detroit Apartments: $2M+ for site cleanup to create 190 residential units + commercial space. It's big work, and we're ready and excited to take it on. This week, Office of Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced another round of brownfield project funding, and the Land Bank was awarded $19 M. These funds will be used to #remediate and #demolision contaminated sites around #CuyahogaCounty. Today, Cleveland Foundation graciously host our 15-Year Impact Symposium where we unveiled the findings of our analysis report and celebrated the results of our work across #CuyahogaCounty under the #leadership of our late visionary and founder Gus Frangos. After reporting to our sold-out crowd that the Land Bank has created more than $3.6 billion dollars ($3.6 BILLION!) in #economicimpact across the County through demolitions, home renovations, new constructions and more, Lillian Kuri & Ricardo Leon led a great panel discussion, featuring John Litten, MPA, Annette Blackwell, Sally Martin O’Toole and First Suburbs Consortium Director Jennifer Kuzma. We are grateful for each panelist's time, passion and #partnership, and we sincerely look forward to our future work together. The Symposium followed a really special day, where the First Suburbs Consortium presented Gus' wife and son John Frangos the Ken Montlack Visionary Leader Award.
