It's our mission to help protect your people and process from the hazards of combustible dust fires and explosions.

About us

CV Technology specializes in complete explosion and fire protection solutions for the prevention and mitigation of explosions and fire hazards that result from the manufacturing and handling of dry bulk materials. Over the past 25 years in the industry, we have become one of the world's leaders in developing superior fire and explosion protection solutions. Safety and continuity of processes are of major value to all companies. Powders and dry bulk materials, production, and handling methods commonly used put factories, equipment, process, and employees at risk. The proper strategy for dust explosion and fire protection is unique for each situation, factory, process, and company. Our, engineering, manufacturing, and system integration capabilities allow us to custom tailor each safety solution specific to the conditions within the operation. Our unique approach has led to an unblemished safety record and is the reason we have become the safety vendor of choice for a wide variety of Fortune 500 companies. CV Technology is an active committee member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standards for combustible dusts. Our safety designs and solutions incorporate the applicable standards and guide lines. All manufacturing at CV Technology is done to the highest quality. Our products are third party independent tested and listed by either ATEX or FM Approvals. CV Technology is an ISO 9001 certified company. By minimizing the amount of risk in environments that are susceptible to ignite a dust explosion or fire and implementing the right equipment in the right places, CV Technology provides piece of mind to your company’s employees and business process.

  • 🚨 Breaking News in Fire & Explosion Safety 🚨 The NFPA 660: Standard for Combustible Dusts and Particulate Solids has officially launched ahead of schedule! Are You Ready? Yes, NFPA 660 is launching with an effective date of December 6, 2024! 🎉 This transformative standard consolidates five previous NFPA standards (61, 484, 654, 655, and 664) into a single, streamlined framework. By unifying these guidelines, NFPA 660 simplifies compliance, standardizes terminology, and introduces expanded safety measures—setting a new benchmark for combustible dust safety across industries. Key highlights include: ✅ Unified guidance for clarity and consistency ✅ New safety measures like hazard analyses and operational readiness reviews ✅ Tailored chapters for sector-specific needs Originally slated for release in early 2025, this early launch underscores the urgency of advancing safety protocols in industries ranging from agriculture and food processing to woodworking and metal manufacturing. As we transition to NFPA 660, its impact will be felt across the board—reshaping how industries manage combustible dust hazards and enhancing workplace safety standards. Stay tuned as we dive deeper into what this means for various sectors and share insights on navigating these changes! #NFPANews #CombustibleDust #WorkplaceSafety #NFPA660 #SafetyStandards

  • 10/10 is National Metric Day!📏🔢 October 10th or 10/10 is National Metric Day and part of National Metric week that celebrates the metric system. Originating in France in the late 1700s, the metric system was created because citizens in post-revolutionary war France wanted uniform weights and measurements throughout the nation. The resulting metric system used interrelated units of one measure, which increased by powers of 10. Did you know that though the US uses its own measurement system, that there has been an effort to switch to the metric system? In fact, the U.S. Congress has endorsed the metric system and this shift from the imperial system to metric in the United States is known as metrication. Because most of the world uses metric measurements (also known as the international system of units or SI for short) there is a benefit to sharing the same measurements as it promotes trade. Many international companies that adopt SI infrastructure and best practices benefit from improved interoperability of materials and product efficiency. In fact, according to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), various US industrial sectors are moving toward using metric rather than standard measurements to reduce error and improve trade. At CV Technology, we provide explosion and fire solutions to clients both in the US and abroad. This means that we are familiar with using both standard and metric measurements as plants and facilities may use either system. Being prepared to meet any client’s needs means having the right measurement system to suit any application. Many of our solutions install on pipelines, which can be of varying diameters measured differently depending on outer diameter (metric) or by nominal bore (imperial). Our staff of engineers use both systems and understand the importance of correct measurements to accomplish complex engineering goals. • 🧑🚒Fire Safety Awareness: Know Your Plan🚒🧯 October 6-12 is Fire Prevention Week, which is observed in the United States and Canada each year in the first week of October that includes the date of October 9. This date is a reminder of the Great Chicago Fire, which was a devastating event that took place in 1871, where it is believed that 300 people lost their lives and more than 100,000 residents were left homeless in Chicago, Illinois, after a conflagration destroyed much of the city in hot, dry, and windy conditions. These conditions made it challenging to fight the fire as it spread, so to keep fire safety centered for the public, this anniversary is noted each year with shared resources and awareness campaigns. For Fire Prevention Week, this year’s theme is “Smoke Alarms: Make Them Work For You!” Resources to learn about how to ensure your home’s smoke alarms are in working order are available here: https://lnkd.in/gAyYqc-Q. On a related note, this year marks the first time that the United Nation’s has declared today to be International Fire Prevention Day, with this year’s theme being “A World Without Fire Victims.” Each year on October 8, there will be a new theme that centers fire safety and awareness. With our company’s focus on fire and explosion safety, we feel it’s important to share about efforts around safety, whether at home, in the workplace, or in industrial settings where many people work every day. Take a moment to review your personal and workplace fire safety plans and know what safeguards are required for your location.
