Thank you Karin Henderson,CVA from Calgary, Alberta, Canada for being this weeks #CVAspotlight! Karin Henderson is an experienced professional in the nonprofit sector, currently serving as the K-12 Programs Team Lead at Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids. With a focus on addressing food insecurity and supporting children’s needs, Karin plays a pivotal role in developing and overseeing volunteer programs that provide meals to over 7,500 kids in Calgary schools. Karin decided to pursue her CVA credential in 2023, to strengthen her expertise in volunteer management and leadership. Her professional journey is marked by a passion for community service and making a positive impact on the lives of volunteers. Most recent accomplishments include working with the CCVA on the "Is Everyone Welcome Toolkit" with colleagues across North America and increasing volunteers’ rating on feelings of value and appreciation from 91% to 97% through meaningful engagement strategies and execution across a pool of over 600 volunteers. Outside of her professional responsibilities, Karin is known for her strong organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and collaborative approach. She values the importance of teamwork and works tirelessly to ensure that all volunteers have the tools they need to be successful in their journey. When not working, you can find Karin on the golf course, pickleball court, relaxing at the lake or spending time with friends and family.
