On behalf of the DAC-UN Dialogue, we are pleased to share the call for applications for the 12th Cohort of the Nexus Academy (February 4-12, 2025)! Experience our Executive Program in a concise one-week format, specifically tailored for senior managers. Complete the application form ➡ https://lnkd.in/eEEkaFVn Applications are open through January 10, 2025. There is increasing urgency in scaling-up and accelerating nexus approaches. More than six years have passed since the World Humanitarian Summit and almost three years since the OECD-DAC passed its Recommendation on the Humanitarian Development Peace Nexus. These approaches will help tackle increasing fragility, address the root causes of crises, and improve the coherence, complementarity and effectiveness of humanitarian, development, and peace actions. What to expect in the Nexus Academy training: ✅This is a light executive course - a condensed version of our flagship program, designed specifically for senior management level participants. ✅ 5 co-created ‘core modules’ developed through broad consultations and delivered in English. ✅ 1 week online through a combination of self-paced and collective learning, always from 2:00-4:30PM Geneva time. ✅ 45 participants and a diverse group of facilitators and experts from DAC members and UN agencies that have adhered to the OECD recommendation on the HDP nexus, IFIs, civil society and stand-by partners. ✅ No fee for applying to, or participating in, the Nexus Academy, as the facility is offered as a common good on behalf of DAC members and UN agencies who have adhered to the DAC Nexus Recommendation. Criteria to apply: ⏺ Current employment with an agency that participates in the DAC-UN Dialogue, an NGO/CSO partner, IFI, or a stand-by capacity with a demonstrated commitment to nexus approaches. ⏺ A minimum of 7 years’ work experience within or working with multilateral, bilateral, government or non-government organizations. ⏺ Strong experience of working in crisis contexts. Experience and prior engagement on Nexus issues is an advantage. ⏺ Full availability and commitment to participate in all 7 sessions, with expressed clearance from supervisor. Selected candidates will be notified shortly after the deadline to apply. Our goal is to have a balanced representation of participants, reflecting diversity in gender; global, regional, and country-level roles; humanitarian, development and peace roles and multilateral, bilateral and NGO representation. If you do not receive an invitation to participate, please know that you were not selected for this round. Reach us at nexus.academy@undp.org for any questions, clarifications, or support.

  • A groundbreaking workshop was held in Amman from September 9th to 12th, focusing on "Decent Work across the Humanitarian, Peace, and Development Nexus." This event brought together key stakeholders from across the Arab region to discuss crucial strategies for promoting decent work in the face of ongoing crises. As the Arab region continues to grapple with various challenges, collaboration and coordination among governments, workers, organizations, and employers are essential to ensuring that vulnerable groups have access to decent work opportunities and adequate social protection. The workshop, a partnership with International Labour Organization and Sida, provided a platform for participants to share experiences, learn from best practices, and strengthen partnerships. Key takeaways from the event: ✅ The importance of a holistic approach: Promoting decent work requires a coordinated effort that addresses the interconnectedness of humanitarian, peace, and development issues. ✅ The role of social protection: Ensuring that vulnerable groups have access to social protection measures is crucial for building resilience and promoting social justice. ✅ The power of partnerships: Collaboration is essential for achieving sustainable and equitable development. Thank you to ILO, Sida, and participants for partnering with Nexus Academy for this important workshop. #NexusAcademy #NexusChampions
