It's time to recognize United States Air Force Support Officer Andrew P. as our newest DAF Digital Agent of Change! When Andrew saw an opportunity for improvement, he didn't just identify the problem—he solved it. Leading an all-volunteer team, he deployed PROPS (Packet Routing, Organization & Preparation System), a groundbreaking, zero-cost improvement for real-time tracking and streamlined command and control. By challenging the status quo, Andrew and his team have helped engage over 108,000 users across 500 units and cut packet routing time by 85%. Thanks to digital doers like Andrew, the DAF is propelling toward a more agile, efficient, and transformative future. Are you or a team member helping advance digital transformation for the DAF? Make your mark on the DAF's digital future. Learn more about becoming a Digital Agent of Change at https://lnkd.in/gUxGQeSR

The DAF Digital Transformation Office had a fantastic time attending the National Defense Industrial Association - (NDIA) Systems and Mission Engineering Conference. It was so valuable to be among defense community members across industry, government, and academia to collaborate on improving defense acquisition and system performance. Our own William Jinkins did an amazing job representing the DAF DTO team during a panel discussion on Digital Material Management (DMM) and the Air Force Materiel Command perspective. PySysML2 initial public release PySysML2 is a Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) project for analyzing SysML v2 Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) models in Python. It started in 2021 as an Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) systems engineering graduate degree capstone project by Mr. Keith Lucas, but has since been extended to support multiple SysML v2 pathfinder projects. Mr. Lucas has released the latest version under an Apache Commons 2.0 open-source license, and the software is available under the Digital Transformation Office's (DTO) public GitHub repository: https://lnkd.in/g5Cvkcbg. SysML v2 is the successor to the SysML 1.x MBSE language. It seeks to remedy many SysML’s ongoing issues, chief among which are lack of MBSE interoperability across Digital Materiel Management (DMM) tools and potential MBSE tool vendor lock. To accomplish this, v2 implements an open API and textual modeling language in addition to a familiar graphical language for MBSE modeling. This API and textual language will be common across all modeling tools that implement SysML v2. Crucially, these are open standards that are available to anyone looking to build v2 compliant modeling tools. PySysML2 started as a pathfinder project to show what may be possible due to this paradigm shifting change to SysML, but it continues to grow as part of the vibrant and open SysML v2 ecosystem of tools. We invite contribution to this project and intend to support this as an ongoing FOSS community effort. Awesome work by Keith Lucas, whose research reports are also available at in the Github repo. #digitalAF #sysml2

Last week, a few of our team members had the privilege of touring Caterpillar Inc. Ryan McNeal, Monika Patel-Parsons, and J. Kyle Hurst got an up-close look at their state-of-the-art facilities, including the massive D11 Dozer. It was inspiring to learn more about Caterpillar's digital transformation journey and their advanced product lifecycle management capabilities. The DAF DTO is incredibly grateful for Caterpillar's support of the DoD and the opportunity to collaborate on digital innovation. It was a bonus to catch up with former DTO member and AFRSO Chief Engineer Steven Turek, PhD. Thanks again to Caterpillar for this incredible experience! #innovation #collaboration #DAF #Caterpillar
