Daikin was proud to host and meet with executive leaders from the Greater Houston Partnership (GHP) at Daikin Texas Technology Park on June 4. The discussion focused on ways Daikin and GHP can work together to advance the role of inverter heat pumps in the Greater Houston Region. The group also toured the Daikin Showroom and manufacturing areas, which included an extended stop at DTTP's latest capital expansion, the FIT line.  The GHP promotes business, economic and community development in Houston and the surrounding area. Daikin is an an extremely active member in the GHP and several of its initiatives, including Women on the Rise, which celebrates high-potential women interested in networking and idea-sharing with like-minded women and advancing their professional skills.

We are thrilled to announce our five commitments to support California’s ambitious goal of deploying six million heat pumps by 2030. This starts with ·      Daikin forging a path to deploy one million heat pumps in the state by 2030, aligned to our belief that inverter-based heat pumps are crucial for advancing environmental sustainability and carbon neutrality goals and reducing costs in local communities. Through our ongoing collaboration with the California Energy Commission, Daikin will also: ·      Establish new local distribution locations and training centers to support heat pump installations. ·      Open a Sustainability and Innovation Center to showcase the benefits of inverter heat pumps and other decarbonization technologies. ·      Partner with utility companies to promote inverter-based heat pumps through education and incentive programs. ·      Play a key, leading role as part of the new California Heat Pump Partnership in developing a blueprint for installing six million heat pumps by 2030. Daikin leads the way in advancing California's heat pump deployment goals with a strategic plan to produce 1 million heat pumps, ensuring the state moves closer to its target of 6 million deployments by 2030. This effort follows the October 2023 announcement by the California Energy Commission, which saw 10 of the world’s largest manufacturers commit to this goal. Daikin President and CEO Satoru Akama emphasized California's influential role, hoping this initiative inspires other states to prioritize heat pump deployment. He highlighted the importance of inverter-based heat pumps for energy savings, reliability, and affordability. California Energy Commission Commissioner, Andrew McAllister praised Daikin’s dedication, noting its impact on market growth and the clean energy workforce.
