For this week's COTW, we're looking at the HON Convergence. This chair is easy on the budget and serves the role of a great bulk task chair. This is a dependable commuter car. It's not a sports car and it isn't trying to be. What I really liked when trying this one out was the seat. HON uses a thickly padded seat that's firm with just the right amount of give for comfort and longevity. It also has a nice shock absorber in case you sit down fast. The Convergence has a mesh back and, unlike other HON task chairs, only comes in black. The cushion fabric can be custom-ordered by grade and color. It has an adjustable lumbar support, which is less common in this price range. The other adjustments are simple. The chair goes up and down, the arms adjust up and down, and the seat slides (a nice feature.) This is the ideal chair to buy twenty for a public library or school computer lab. It's perfect for short tasks and durable enough to last. We have created a program to replace disposable intercompany shipping labels. Repurposing yard waste from cutoffs, we have created sleeves for these labels so they can be used over and over again. Diverting large amounts of paper and adhesive backings from landfills.
