We are excited to share that Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden and Catawba Riverkeeper were awarded the "Tourism Excellence for a Business Award" from the North Carolina Travel Industry Association! John Searby, Chief Executive Officer of both organizations, accepted the award at the NCTIA Awards Banquet on Thursday evening. ⁠ ⁠ In October of 2023, we entered into a unique shared services collaboration with Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, which allows us to share administrative resources to reduce overhead, create economies of scale, and work closely on shared programmatic areas of emphasis like environmental education and outdoor recreation.⁠ ⁠ Our collaboration strengthens both organizations and provides a unique case study for sustainable tourism. With our shared focus on environmental education, we're proud of the fact that our partnership encourages locals and tourists alike to understand and appreciate our region's ecosystems.⁠ ⁠ Whether you live nearby or are visiting from a different region, we hope you'll choose to join us in one of the many opportunities our partnership offers to experience and grow in your understanding of our beautiful natural resources!
