Tiffany & Co stamps in the vintage watch world are seldom seen from our favorite brands such as Rolex and Patek Philippe. Today, we’re looking at a Patek Philippe reference 3566 in 18k yellow gold with a champagne roman numeral dial from 1976. Accompanied by its archives and a long 7.5 inch bracelet, this watch is ready for a new collector that will cherish its small details. From the oxidation on the back of the bracelet to the personal engraving on the caseback, it’s history on the wrist. This specific example was a corporate gift to someone performing rather well for PriceWaterhouse & Co in 1979 (quite a generous gift back in the day!) Dannysvintagewatches.com

Large and in charge. Vintage Vacheron Constantin integrated gold watches are less common than their Audemars Piguet and Patek Philippe counterparts. We’re looking at a heavy onyx factory diamond dial in automatic in 18k white gold. The piece’s contemporary case size and weight almost feel as if you’re not wearing vintage! Curating vintage watches of this caliber implies that we’re always sourcing a watch we didn’t even know existed. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. Dannysvintagewatches.com

When you think of integrated gold watches, Vacheron Constantin definitely doesn’t come to mind. That’s typically Piaget, Patek Philippe, and Audemars Piguet’s job. We’re enamored by this tiger eye diamond dial automatic from the 1970s-1980s 🐅👁️. Vacheron didn’t make many exotic stone dial watches to begin with. Seldom seen in automatic, we’re proud to have sourced it. The woven textured bracelet feels how it looks: buttery! 🧈 At DVW, we’re always hunting for that next rare gem to offer. We have a potentially unique Piaget Polo skeleton with an inner diamond bezel with beautiful hand finishes on the bridges accompanied with its original strap and buckle After an extensive amount of research I’ve concluded there’s not much info to be found on this stunning watch. Except that Miles Davis as gifted a similar one by Piaget and it then sold on auction for 50k I’ve been the biggest fan of the Piaget brand for a few years now and have probably bought hundreds of Piagets. I now understand It’s a numbers game the more you buy the better chances you have of getting lucky, glad to have been able to acquire this as it gets lots of wrist time and still flies under the radar day to day We aren’t just dealers, we’re collectors as much as the next guy. So many very unique watches from all our favorite brands come by daily and we can’t keep them all unfortunately but this one would be tough for me to sell This is a museum worthy watch that we adore and we may have an even cooler one I might post up sometime soon! At DVW, our job is to source watches, not sell. In our market, examples such as below sell for themselves. We get asked a lot, “what is the hardest task in the watch business”? SOURCING. You don’t need us to tell you why certain vintage watches are intrinsically special. These watches sell for themselves just for the fact that they are rare to come by, especially in the condition that we are seeking. It’s our job to portray them in the right light so you can see the beauty for yourself! Dannysvintagewatches.com

Do you Cartier Baignoire Allongée? Seek not only an alternative to the elusive, unattainable Cartier Crash that every celebrity and their mother is sporting and wear the ORIGINAL design. The Cartier Crash stemmed from the Baignoire or Maxi Oval from the 1960s. Shapes like a bathtub hence the baignoire name (French), many consumers don’t even think about the Crash’s origin or its “original” canvas. We’re always on the hunt for that next grail At dannysvintagewatches.com

We’re looking at one of our favorites from this weeks curation: a reference 9772 18k white gold Piaget with a vibrant blue lapis dial from the late 70s, early 80s. Watches like this can really be treated like works of art, almost like a sculpture. Just like how a sculptor works on a piece of marble, famous jewelers/ watch manufacturers such as Piaget turn intrinsic value into something beautiful. The unique textures and stones used in examples like this are really a dying art form from watch brands today that NEED to be resurfaced. With the new release of the Polo 79 not too long ago, maybe the art form of integrated gold watches with their intricate finishes and dial alternatives will come back! The elusive white gold Rolex Cellini cuff from the early 70s. King Midas-Esq, this cuff style piece embodies stealth wealth and hidden opulence in a time that was extremely flashy. Gold and more gold was the way to go so to see someone rock this between the 70s-80s was pure class! It’s a great time to experiment with both design and precious metals. We’re seeing demand shift to more design driven pieces. Everyone can buy a Rolex Batman or Pepsi. It’s quite easy to do if money isn’t an issue, but when seeking vintage pieces such as the one below, money can’t even buy it. It’s the search, the hunt that makes it worth while. We’re looking at Chopard Mille Miglia chronographs from the late 90s. You have been seeing a lot of gold posts in the past few weeks from blue chip names such as Patek Philippe, Rolex, Audemars Piguet, and Piaget, but we always encourage and believe in VALUE. Brands such as Chopard, Frank Muller, Hublot, and Bvlgari have so many great offerings frome 90s-2000s that consumers either don’t know or care about. We noticed that many of these brands had original and creative designs at approachable case sizes between 36-38mm. With these neo vintage sports watches at a great price point at $4000 and under, you are getting a distinct look, beautiful dials, tritium still being used in somewhat modern cases and designs. Contemporary iterations of these watches are either too big, too expensive, or both! A lot of watches that will be introducing in the next weeks from these brands are a great option, whether it be original/ beautiful designs, wearable sizes, and price point. I am personally enjoying these Chopards at around a 36-37mm case size with laquered dials and funky fonts. The 90s were a great time for watchmaking! The dominos pizza dial on the Air King reference 14000 from the 1990s are one of the few watches that really threw off collectors as prices soared. These watches were given to employees that stayed in the Dominos business long term (25 years plus). Of course, it’s one of Rolex’s cheapest line up, the Air King. It was the corporation’s way of saying “thanks for sticking with us”. Years ago, you couldn’t give the dial away, especially on 47th st. People swapped and preferred plain SILVER dials over these. Oh, how the tables have turned. Everyone and their mom is looking for something different 🍕 Sold at: dannysvintagewatches.com #watches #luxury #fashion #art #business #innovation #vintage #rolex #cartier #patek #tiffany #lvmh #jewelry #history #corporate
