DATAWiSE project pilot spotlight in Stanz im Mürztal, Austria In the picturesque setting of Stanz im Mürztal (Austria), second of our three pilots is set to showcase how local energy communities can lead the way in sustainability and self-sufficiency. This initiative focuses on enhancing the municipality's energy resilience and economic prosperity through innovative energy management solutions and active community involvement. ⚡ Why Stanz im Mürztal❓  Stanz im Mürztal presents a unique environment for demonstrating how community-based energy systems can create a more liveable and economically resilient region. Building on the successes of the national and European projects in Stanz, this pilot aims to elevate the municipality's energy network and promote the use of renewable energy sources, while improving the quality of life for its residents. Key objectives 🚩 🔺Renewable energy expansion: Increasing the supply of renewable energy through optimized and expanded local energy networks for both heat and electricity. 🔺Community empowerment: Enhancing formal energy communities to actively participate in energy exchange, allowing for the efficient trading of energy, power, and flexibilities among members. 🔺Sustainability: Utilizing a peer-to-peer marketplace for renewable energy source of electricity, ensuring that energy generated by community members is efficiently matched with consumer needs. 🔺Digital innovation: Upgrading the existing nudging application with new functionalities that provide real-time and forecasted energy data, offer usage advice, and facilitate community engagement through dialogues and online events. ➤Incorporating innovative data-driven approaches and digital tools, this pilot will serve as a model for future community-based energy projects, demonstrating how small municipalities can lead the way in sustainable energy management and economic resilience. ➤Collaboration with local stakeholders, including community members and local governments, is essential to the success of this pilot.
