We are thrilled to share that Governor Hochul signed the Alternative Delivery bill into law on Friday – a culmination of years of hard work by DDC, our industry partners, and leaders including Mayor Adams, Deputy Mayor Joshi, Senators Comrie and Sepulveda, and Assemblymembers Braunstein and Rajkumar.   DDC has demonstrated what we can accomplish when we get the tools we need: delivering world-class facilities years faster through our inaugural design-build program and building critical facilities in record time for New Yorkers in emergencies. Thanks to this bill, it will no longer take an emergency to use common-sense tools like CM-build for New York City’s libraries and cultural institutions.   We have already started the work to put CM-build to use: exchanging best practices with other public owners, developing fair and balanced contracts, and identifying the projects that can most benefit from this tool as part of our pilot program, managed under a special unit at DDC. Stay tuned for updates in early 2025, when we’ll be seeking input from the industry ahead of our first CM-build solicitations.
