The Delaware Emergency Management Agency, Delaware Department of Transportation, National Weather Service, and county emergency agencies are teaming up to observe Winter Weather Awareness Week from December 2 to 6 to share important information to help residents and visitors stay safe. Preparing now can greatly reduce any potential impacts from severe winter weather. November Ambassador of the Month: Amy Reardon Amy serves as the outreach specialist for Delaware Commute Solutions, a DART First State program. She works to improve and implement transportation plans that help foster clean commuting throughout our state and works alongside employers and higher education to assist with developing unique transportation options for specific locations. Amy advocates for our community and improving the commute experience in Delaware. We’re grateful for her ongoing contributions and the energy she brings to our Chamber community. McDowell, III Transportation Center in Claymont is now competing for the Grand Prize and People’s Choice Award! 🚉 This project is among the 12 finalists competing for top honors in the 2024 America’s Transportation Awards competition, sponsored by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, AAA and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The Grand Prize will be chosen by an independent panel of judges, while the People’s Choice Award will go to the project with the most Online Votes from the public. Online votes will be weighted to each state’s population, allowing for greater competition between states with larger and smaller populations. The winners will be announced at the AASHTO Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, PA. Both winners will receive $10,000 each for a charity or transportation-related scholarship. 🗳️ Vote now through Tuesday, October 29. (You can place one vote per 24 hours!)
