Feeling stressed today? We've got you covered. Take a quick break from your worries with a trip underwater at the Scripps Pier Cam! This web cam, a DeepSea HD Multi SeaCam installed at the Scripps Pier in San Diego, gives you a live look underwater, where you can see ocean conditions and watch local marine life swim (or crawl) by. We recommend some ambient music to accompany the livestream 🌊 🎵 https://lnkd.in/gJ8hwmvK Learn more about the pier cam and how it's helping researchers at Scripps Institution of Oceanography here: https://lnkd.in/g5tR3PHc

Join us in celebrating the premiere of the documentary "Endurance," set to make its grand debut at the prestigious BFI London Film Festival on October 12th! This captivating film takes you on an extraordinary journey beneath the ocean's surface, and recounts a tale of leadership and perseverance. The documentary features stunning imagery of the ship’s final resting place over 3000 m deep in the icy Wedell sea. At DeepSea, we are immensely proud to have played a role in bringing this breathtaking underwater footage to life. Our cutting-edge Optim SeaCam was instrumental in capturing the vivid colors and intricate details of the wooden wreckage preserved for over 100 years. The Optim SeaCam is designed to withstand the harshest conditions of the deep ocean, ensuring that the expedition that spawned this incredible documentary was recorded with unparalleled clarity and precision. It's an honor to see our technology contributing to a film that not only educates but also inspires a deeper appreciation for the ocean's wonders. #EnduranceDocumentary #BFILondonFilmFestival #DeepSeaPowerAndLight #OptimSeaCam #UnderwaterExploration #OceanWonders #MarineLife #Inspiration #Innovation #FilmPremiere

We are honored to have had the opportunity to contribute to a paper published in the most recent volume of the Journal of Ocean Technology. The paper, "Autonomous, Fixed-Focus, High-Resolution Deep-Sea Camera Systems," details the development of subsea camera systems specially designed to capture deep-ocean processes for science, exploration, and education. The optical system's unique and versatile design is the result of a close collaboration between DeepSea Power & Light, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution's MISO Facility, EP Oceanographic and Ocean Imaging Systems, and Back-Bone Gear. The camera enables scientists to document deep ocean phenomena, contributing to ongoing research efforts and helping to engage the public about the importance of the deep oceans. The peer-reviewed paper is available for anyone to read in the digital issue of "Sensing the Ocean: Lights, Cameras, Sensors," at https://lnkd.in/dhPU-qec.

Exciting news for ocean goers in San Diego and ocean lovers everywhere! The camera installed at the famous Ellen Browning Scripps Memorial Pier at La Jolla Shores is up and running. The camera and live feed (https://lnkd.in/gJ8hwmvK) is part of Scripps Institution of Oceanography's Coastal Ocean Observing Lab (https://lnkd.in/g5tR3PHc), which collects vital data about the ocean in our coastal environment, including temperature and salinity. The new Scripps Pier Cam gives viewers a live look underwater at the pier, where you can check out ocean visibility and watch for any undersea inhabitants that call our local waters home. Check out this recent interview on CBS 8 San Diego to learn more about the exciting project: https://lnkd.in/gm29nMc3 DeepSea is proud to have donated the camera, an HD Multi SeaCam, used in Scripps' important research.

We are honored to be included in the August issue of Ocean News & Technology! Our editorial, "No Sub for Submersibles: Exploring the deep with Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution," is a tribute to the deep ocean submersibles used by Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution to advance scientific research in the deep oceans. Make sure to check it out! https://lnkd.in/gRQZTvQz
EXCLUSIVE EDITORIAL by DeepSea Power & Light “It is in the deep where submersibles are proving increasingly instrumental. Where once simply gaining access to the deepest, darkest, most remote crevices was feat enough, today, thanks to the array of modern equipment and instrumentation that these vehicles can support, deep ocean submersibles are able to efficiently expand upon our scientific knowledge of the baseline environmental conditions that frame ocean ecosystems and processes.” Aaron Steiner, General Manager, DeepSea Power & Light and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. This week's "Lunch and Learn" session was a great success! Employees across our wider organization gathered on Wednesday for an engaging and informative afternoon of learning about DeepSea oceanographic products and services. First, participants got an overview of our 6" hydrostatic pressure chamber, learning about its basic operation and safety protocols - and watching it in action when it crushed one of our lights! The light was subjected to extreme pressures encountered well beyond its rated depth, and these photos show the dramatic before/after of the imploded light. Afterwards, employees got an introduction to some up-and-coming products. We're excited to tell you more about this soon. At DeepSea, we prioritize continuous learning and growth. Educating everyone on the team about our innovative products and services is key to delivering exceptional value to our reps and customers, and we look forward to future events like this one. #DeepSeaByDesign #TeamSuccess #ContinuousLearning #ProductInnovation #LunchAndLearn
