  • It truly is a season of gratitude! This holiday season, we’re filled with gratitude for the churches and businesses stepping up to support our new neighbors through the Welcome Tree initiative and special offerings. From hosting Welcome Trees across the KC metro to dedicating Christmas Eve offerings to help refugee families settle into their new homes, your generosity is truly transforming lives. We’re especially excited to share that all 475 Welcome Tree ornaments have been distributed! Attached to each ornament is a listed item that will go directly into the home of a refugee family ranging from silverware to bunk beds! Each ornament was thoughtfully crafted by resilient refugee women alongside volunteers during our monthly women’s tea, with each one bearing the name of its creator—a testament to the shared community spirit. The final ornaments were lovingly assembled by Ukrainian clients during a memorable zoo trip. Special thanks to: - Asbury United Methodist Church - Church of the Four Corners - Country Club Christian Church - Country Club United Methodist Church - New Wine Church - NorthPoint Development - Pleasant Hill United Methodist - Platte Woods United Methodist Church - Toner Jewelers, Inc. Check out the map to see all the Welcome Tree locations near you and the amazing impact being made across the KC metro. While the ornaments are gone, there’s still time to join this movement of welcome! Donate resources, host a tree, or learn more about how you can make a difference in the lives of our new neighbors! Email Kate at KKershaw@dellalamb.org or visit the link in our bio to get involved. #WelcomeTree #KinderKansasCity #WelcomeTheStranger It felt like Christmas this week as we met with partners across the metro and distributed the ornaments! Swipe to see our partners in action.

  • Shoutout to Arvest Bank for leading our monthly financial literacy course for newly arrived refugees! 💙 For many of our clients, this is their first experience with formal banking—learning about things like opening a bank account, budgeting, and understanding a credit score. These skills are crucial for building a secure future and empowering our new neighbors to thrive in their new home. Thank you for making a difference and helping families start their financial journey on the right foot! #FinancialLiteracy #Empowerment #CommunitySupport #KinderKansasCity The Kansas City bank community is the greatest!
