Desi Daughters provides culturally relevant information, resources, and community to daughters (and sons!) of aging South Asian elders. We host information sessions on topics relevant to family caregivers of South Asian elders. The Desi Daughters website compiles and shares information on available desi elder care resources by geography. Our online community (over 2k members and growing) provides a supportive space to learn from and lean on each other. Many of our elders and families have culturally similar caregiving needs and challenges, but no central resource was available to reference. This community fills that void by creating a supportive space to share experiences with and learn from each other.

Over the past 15 months, this group has grown from an idea to see if anyone else shares the same challenges to an extended family of 4,000+ members leaning on and learning from each other. Most of us were not prepared or trained for family caregiving. We spend time figuring out the right resources for our aging South Asian parents on our own. The free Desi Daughters community provides culturally relevant resources, community-powered support, and local chapters in large metro areas. Desi Daughters & Elderly Care India - A collective initiative I am happy to inform that Desi Daughters and Elderly Care India have collaborated to promote the cause of Ageing in India. The joint initiative of volunteers is to highlight the needs of Older People and the systematic interventions required at the grassroots level. The volunteers team will exchange ideas and practical solutions which will be put forward as recommendations to various stakeholders and policy makers. As a team we look forward to sharing Resources and Knowledge on Eldercare to promote dignity and well-being of Indian Senior Citizens in USA and India. Desi Daughters is the only community created for South Asian professionals with elderly parents. It is an Elderly Care service organization which offers support, education and information regarding Elderly Care and support systems for the Indian diaspora in USA and India.
