On November 18th, the Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs (HCA) held a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the anticipated beginning of construction of the John Dickinson Plantation Visitor Center. The visitor center, slated to open in 2026, will enhance the visitor experience and further highlight the site’s historical significance, creating new opportunities for community engagement, partnership, and education while expanding its educational materials to include the complex history of those who were enslaved or indentured laborers. How far we’ve come… ❤️ Thank you for your continued partnership Kim!

When you’re driven by what you love, Saturdays aren’t sacrifices—they are fueled by enthusiasm and turning dreams into reality, one young leader at a time! The 5th Cohort of the award-winning Future Leaders Internship Initiative (#FLII) graduated with the HIGHEST intern evaluation ratings in its five-year history! What began with 25 interns five years ago has grown to over 200+ participants, and every intern to date has been accepted into an #HBCU, Ivy League, or traditional university—many with full scholarships. These remarkable young leaders, many from humble beginnings, refused to let circumstances define them, achieving goals that inspire us all. Delaware Department of State, Deputy Secretary of State, Kristopher Knight entrusted us with his vision to create intentional opportunities for minority students in STEM and government. Today, that vision is thriving beyond our imagination. Relationships are our currency. Kris and I met in 2007, reconnected after a decade, and together leveraged our shared commitment to providing opportunities for students, starting with Howard University and firms like PwC and KPMG US Our strategic partner #LYTE began with 10 students and now supports a pipeline of over 700! Hearing students call this experience life-changing, rewarding, and unforgettable reaffirms why we do this work! Founder, Ankur Arya The future is brighter because of these remarkable young diverse leaders! Thank YOU to the 2024 RDG FLii Facilitators!! #Rockstars — Joseph (Joe) Harvey, Nicole Cuevas and Keith D. Ellison Our program backbone, the amazing Taralauryn Porter We are immensely grateful to the unyielding support of Deputy, Secretary of State Kristopher Knight, outgoing Governor John Carney —State of Delaware, Lt. Governor Bethany Hall-Long and Secretary of State, Jeffrey W. Bullock. Tomorrow’s leaders are truly FLii! #Internships #Diversity #Leadership #Government #STEM #Technology #Entrepreneurship
