In the past few years, a day hasn't gone by without at least one researcher or librarian mentioning tight budgets. This was the reality before recent federal budget cuts, and it looks like it will continue to remain so into the future. Academics are resilient. They've always had to maximize their budgets for utility. There is no extra room for fluff. We built Dewey specifically to simplify and streamline data acquisition for research. Let us handle data sourcing, licensing, ingest, storage, provisioning, export, and updates. You can focus on research. It's not just our product that's aligned around this vision; the entire company is. We've launched resources and initiatives to make data acquisition easier, especially for teams with tight budgets. Some examples include: - Guide for evaluating your current data subscriptions - Market map the commercial data vendors that support academics - Grant program for free data access - Documentation for all datasets and a support forum I'm sure there is more we can do, so I'd love to connect with any researchers or librarians who are blocked by budget or have ideas for how we can help. Feel free to reach out! Our last grant program received submissions from over 100 research teams. We'll be announcing our next one soon. Be sure to follow Dewey to receive grant program notifications. (Links in comments.)
