Other highlights of 2024 at DBNC: - Durham and Wilmington Essentials Hub programs expanded, distributing over 100,704 diapers into high-need neighborhood - Distributed 6.4 million products and 244,056 ounces of formula, statewide - Grand opening of our new warehouse in Hillsborough - Rapid response to WNC relief efforts - Lobbied for Period Poverty Awareness in Washington, DC and Raleigh - Expanded our staff - Partnered with over 10,000 volunteers - Increased support and advocacy for our work! The Essentials Hub was designed in collaboration with community members in under-resourced communities across our state to remove access barriers and provide more equity in our programs. Working alongside community members, DBNC fills the Essentials Hub several times a month with hygiene products that are not covered by government-funded programs like WIC or SNAP and delivers them directly to high-need communities in North Carolina. This year, the DBNC Essentials Hub has made 46 DISTRIBUTIONS to high need neighborhoods, distributing 100,704 diapers (serving 2014 babies), 21,548 period products (serving 1,077 individuals), and 1,678 adult incontinence products serving 56 seniors.
