  • Tonight premieres Who I Am Not, a film part of POV's 37th season on PBS. The Audio description (AD) for the film was created by #Dicapta with the support of the United States' Department of Education. About the film: Sharon-Rose Khumalo, a South African beauty queen, faces an identity crisis after discovering she's intersex. Her path crosses with Dimakatso Sebidi, a masculine-presenting intersex activist, as they both navigate a journey marked by society’s stigma and inner struggles. Intertwining raw reality with poetic beauty, Who I am Not captures the heart-wrenching fight for acceptance in a binary world. Watch it on your local PBS station tonight at 10 p.m. ET or stream online on PBS.org and the PBS App, available on iOS, Android, Roku streaming devices, Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung Smart TV, Chromecast and VIZIO. Accessibility elements will be available through the accessibility menu of your cable box (look for Audio, MTS, or SAP). If you are using streaming, follow PBS's instructions to access them. And lastly, you can always use #All4Access! To know more about the film and POVs content, visit: https://lnkd.in/edsEWgYz #WhoIAmNot #Tv #AccessibleContent #Audiodescription #Accessibility #POV #PBS

  • #BestOf2024 the moments that made this year extraordinary: Accessible Performance of Casos y Cachos Llaneros. Dicapta partnered with Descolonizarte Teatro to present Casos y Cachos Llaneros as a fully accessible performance. Based on John Moreno Riaño's book, the play explored llanero culture, blending reality and fiction with shadows, live sound effects, and music. It was the first stage representation of Latino cowboy traditions from eastern Colombia and western Venezuela. Presented from March 1-3 at the Orlando Science Center, the performance featured integrated audio description, American Sign Language (ASL), and simultaneous Spanish-English interpretation, ensuring accessibility for all.
