As a trailblazer in digital equity since 1984, Dr. Marrin has been at the forefront of efforts to bridge the digital divide and promote computer ownership for all. This is Digitunity's core mission. Her pioneering work has laid the foundation so everyone, regardless of their circumstances, can own a computer and have access to the technology they need to thrive in today’s digital world. The WIN Awards celebrate innovators who drive meaningful change across industries. Now in its third year, the program shines a spotlight on leaders who shape the present but inspire future generations of trailblazers. North Carolina has long been viewed as a digital equity innovator and leader, and we're proud to collaborate with the N.C. Department of Information Technology Office of Digital Equity and Literacy team and stakeholders across the state in implementing their Digital Equity Plan to expand device ownership among North Carolinians impacted by the digital divide. On November 12th at 2 PM ET, the Benton Institute for Broadband & Society will discuss on their YouTube page and X account how states are addressing the digital technology needs of Veterans. Veterans are recognized in the Digital Equity Act as a priority group, as they disproportionately face barriers to accessing technology and the Internet. The Benton Institute for Broadband & Society, in partnership with the VA’s Office of Connected Care, has reviewed state digital equity plans and identified some of the most effective strategies to address Veterans' broadband and digital technology needs. #Veterans #DigitalEquity #VeteransDay
