Fantastic news for #NewYork #cancer patients and #oncologists! New York Governor Kathy Hochul has signed a bill to provide #insurance coverage for #scalpcooling systems used to preserve hair during #chemotherapy treatment for cancer. The act will take effect January 1, 2026. With this legislation (A38-A/S2063-A), New York becomes the first state in the U.S. to require private health insurers to provide coverage for these devices. The bill, sponsored by Linda B. Rosenthal in the State Assembly and Toby Stavitsky in the State Senate, was passed unanimously in both houses of the New York Legislature in June of this year.
