New year, new faces! Meet Junior Architect Katie Tanis, who joined the DIGroupArchitecture team last month! 🙋♀️ Katie earned her Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston and has extensive experience working in the public sector in schematic design through construction administration for municipalities, K-12 / higher education, and state projects. 👷♀️ She has also added healthcare and beach home experience while working down at the Jersey Shore (where everything's all right). At DIG, Katie is responsible for all aspects of a project from code review to technical development and #constructionadministration. The opportunity to be creative is important to her and she seeks to learn something new every day. She believes that client satisfaction is essential and seeks to prioritize keeping open lines of communication in order to stay on schedule and achieve mutual goals. 🤝 In her free time, she loves to hang out with her dog Sierra and her nephew Noah. Bookworms rejoice! 🪱 Stockton University just released their 2025: A Look Ahead and gave a shout out to DIG's designs for renovations to their Richard E. Bjork Library on the Galloway campus! 📚 We prepared multiple options to reprogram and re-design the #BjorkLibrary building, a 60,000 SF $10 million project completed in 2022. Over three levels, the re-design incorporated modern amenities to better support the students' experience. 🎒 Renovations will get underway this year and are expected to be completed by June 2026, with the renovated library re-opening in fall 2026. Lester Senior Living was just named the Best of Essex 2024 Gold Winner in Senior Care! 🥇 Congratulations to Lester Senior Living and to our client Jewish Community Housing Corporation of Metropolitan New Jersey! 👏 DIG partnered with both JCHC and Lester Senior Living management to update the first and second floors of their existing #assistedliving and #independentliving communities in #Whippany. 🌅 Our designs re-envisioned the first-floor to make a more interactive space for residents, including a café, reading room, and refurbished dining room. ☕📖 Renovations also included a new THX theater with tiered seating and concession area on the second floor to enhance resident movie viewing experience, as well as improved access to the rear courtyard, allowing both Assisted Living and Independent Living residents more convenient access to the outdoors. 📽🌳 Additional services included environmental graphic concepts for inclusion in grant applications, resident presentations, and marketing content.
