Those who embrace AI’s potential, coupled with a commitment to responsible governance, will unlock unparalleled opportunities for value creation." Marc Antaki, Deputy Chief Strategy and Risk Officer at Mubadala Investment Company, underscores this shift in a thought-provoking piece posted on the World Economic Forum, noting that "Generative AI (GenAI) offers game-changing new ways of working by streamlining processes and uncovering opportunities that would have been missed through conventional methods of analysis." For those looking for a balanced and insightful perspective on all the news on DeepSeek read on (but grab a cup of coffee first). Excellent analysis imho by the co-founder of Anthropic. At DiligentIQ we are sticking with OpenAI, Anthropic and Cohere as our primary LLM partners. The most interesting new models we are researching are the Gemini series from Google.

The diverse nature of deals in private markets and the complexity of the manual due diligence process can make it challenging to analyze data consistently. This poses a significant hurdle for the industry. Addressing these challenges is crucial for improving the accuracy and efficiency of due diligence, thereby unlocking new opportunities for insights and growth. Ed Brandman Ruban Selvakumar and Kenny DeGiglio share their thoughts. #PrivateEquity #DueDiligence #Innovation #AI

Artificial intelligence is enhancing private equity due diligence by combining powerful data analysis with human expertise. AI can analyze thousands of documents in minutes and uncover patterns and insights that would typically take teams days to discover. By itself that makes AI a valuable tool for private market professionals. Yet the real breakthrough happens when firms empower experienced professionals with AI that is purposefully designed to conduct activities such as comparative analysis, competitive analysis, and deep dives on information with unprecedented efficiency and accuracy. Today's leading firms are already investing in building teams of Associates who are testing, learning and mastering these technologies while applying their own expertise to value creation. The relationship is a synergistic one with AI managing the intensive data analysis, freeing up valuable time for investment professionals to focus on the insights that will help them make the sophisticated decisions that drive successful deals. For private equity firms, the question isn't whether to embrace this hybrid approach, but how quickly they can master it to gain a competitive advantage. #PrivateEquity #AI #DueDiligence #Innovation #Investment #DiligentIQ

From 13 Hours to 2.5 Minutes: Faster and more accurate CIM Analysis In the earliest phase of due diligence, analyzing the information in CIMs (Confidential Information Memorandums) is critical. CIMs present data in text, tables, charts and graphs. Private Equity firms often receive between 5 and 20 CIMs each week requiring multiple teams to spend 40 minutes (or more) per document organizing the data into spreadsheets. This results in up to 13 hours each day dedicated to manual data organization. Using our customizable Prompt Playlists feature, CIM processing time drops from ~40 minutes to just 2-3 minutes per CIM: a 93% reduction. In many cases, DiligentIQ will not only do the job faster, but it will do it more accurately than traditional manual extraction. The result? What once required hours of work and multiple resources, sometimes including offshore teams, can now be handled in-house in minutes. This enables Private Equity firms to reallocate resources and time to higher value strategic analysis while gaining a competitive edge through faster decision-making capabilities. #PrivateEquity #AI #DealFlow #Innovation #CIManalysis #DueDiligence

The old diligence playbook was simple but draining: Junior associates spent countless nights buried in data rooms, manually combing through thousands of documents. With every hour spent organizing and reviewing, associates navigated the delicate balance between speed and thoroughness, knowing each page could hold crucial insights. Every minute devoted to this painstaking process meant less time for strategic thinking. Today's forward-thinking deal teams unleash their associates' full potential through AI-powered document analysis. What's truly exciting isn't just the speed - though turning days of work into seconds is remarkable. The fundamental transformation lies in how associates can now elevate their contribution. Instead of spending 80% of their time gathering information and only 20% analyzing it, they can now flip that ratio entirely. When AI handles the heavy lifting: ➕ Complex document queries return insights in seconds ➕ PE-specific prompts drive focused analysis ➕ Risk and opportunity flags emerge automatically Implementing a generative AI solution isn't about replacing sharp minds, it's about amplifying them. Associates can now dive deeper into strategic implications, spot novel value-creation opportunities, and contribute more meaningfully to deal thesis development. The proof? One deal team recently processed over 5,000 documents in under 48 hours – with unprecedented accuracy. But the real victory wasn't the speed – it was the quality of insights their associates uncovered with their newly freed cognitive bandwidth. The future of PE due diligence isn't about machines replacing judgment. It's about empowering associates to exercise their judgment at an entirely new level. The question isn't whether to adapt it's whether you'll lead or follow the change. #PrivateEquity #DueDiligence #AI #Innovation
