Welcome back to the team, Mark Betancourt! Previously a Fellow, Mark joins Distributed Sun as a Project Finance and Development Manager. In his new role, Mark will be responsible for asset counterparty due diligence as well as project finance modeling. Bringing his analytical, data-driven approach, Mark will help to ensure that deals are vetted and financially sound. Mark is also no stranger to leadership in mission-critical roles, serving the U.S. Merchant Marine and Navy Reserve as a reserve Strategic Sealift Officer, a highly specialized line officer designation focused on merchant vessel operations and worldwide military logistics; overseeing 30,000hp+ engineering plants and maintaining 11 million square feet of military cargo space across 50 naval vessels. Mark recently earned his STEM MBA from Cornell University, with distinction. He also holds a BS in Marine Engineering from United States Merchant Marine Academy. "I'm very passionate about renewable energy and the strategies needed to cultivate new investments," said Mark. 📢 We are delighted to share the promotion of Ina Gjika, CITF to Director of Strategy and Sustainability at Distributed Sun and truCurrent.    In her new role, Ina will support the energy transition goals of our Fortune 1000 clients. She will help corporate clients achieve and report on their sustainability goals, including preparation of GHG accounting and other disclosure requirements. Ina's data-driven and analytical approach will be well utilized to drive the development of our clients’ energy transition roadmaps while meeting their business objectives and work with strategic partners to progress utility engagement and policy advocacy.   Ina also supports the mission of preserving natural capital and sustainable mining at the Earthshot Foundation, where she serves as Interim Director.
