The mission of the Diverse Attorney Pipeline Program (DAPP) is to nurture and support the next generation of women of color attorneys and infuse the pipeline with diverse women of color law students who are empowered tackle the rigors of the legal profession. Born in 2013, DAPP was created to address the continued decline of underrepresented women of color lawyers in large law firms. Its founders first brainstormed about the program after discovering a disconnect between the number of highly-qualified, talented women of color lawyers in contrast to law firms’ continued struggle to identify, recruit, and retain qualified women of color at the associate and partner levels. DAPP seeks to directly solve this problem by preparing first-year, women of color law students for the rigors of big law through intensive academic support, rigorous professional development, student and attorney mentorship and internship opportunities. DAPP currently runs four (4) national programs specifically for 1L women of color law students: National Scholars Program, #PrepDAPP Boot Camp, DAPP Direct Job Placement Fair, Client Readiness Boot Camp.
