At Do What Matters, we always start with Inclusion first. We look for the win-win by positioning difference and diversity as a solution to be elevated, not a problem to be fixed. Our focus is on getting the right people doing the right jobs and elevating their relevant differences, life experiences, capabilities and perspectives, to successfully create and efficiently deliver innovative and creative products, services and content to an increasingly multicultural, transcultural and global marketplace. Go Beyond DEI: Talent Management for the 21st Century
About us
At Do What Matters, we believe in cutting through corporate jargon to create meaningful, measurable Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) outcomes by starting with inclusion first. We go beyond DEI. Ticking boxes and traditional DEI tactics only deliver empty promises. We work with businesses that want real, lasting change—businesses that understand our inclusion-first approach is about driving innovation, retaining top talent, and boosting performance, not just meeting a compliance quota. Our team brings data-driven solutions that are as practical as they are powerful. Our solutions help companies embed inclusion first into their DNA, aligning leadership with actionable strategies and providing clear metrics to track progress. Our flexible, scalable solutions meet you where you are—whether you're just getting started or looking to overhaul your entire talent strategy. What We Offer: - Data-Driven Insights: DEI shouldn’t be a guessing game. We bring the data, tools, and expertise to help you make informed, impactful decisions. - Executive Alignment: If DEI isn’t a priority at the top, it won’t stick. We work directly with C-suite leaders to make DEI a strategic, company-wide initiative. - Scalable Solutions: No one-size-fits-all here. Our programs are tailored to fit your needs, from small businesses to global enterprises. Why Do What Matters? We need to do better for women. 👩🏿 👩🏾 👩🏽 👩🏼 👩🏻 👩 "Most women experience the double bind of being perceived as either likable or competent when they speak up. But women of color face additional racial stereotypes. Some Black women feel pressured to modulate their tone so they are not perceived as conforming to the harmful “angry Black woman” stereotype, Dr. Akinola said. Upgrading your Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring process can help mitigate bias and exclusion. Why wouldn't you do that? Introducing: Inclusive Talent Management Workshop - Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring The key to increasing inclusion and creating talent gravity is improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring processes. In this workshop, we explain how to: - Define performance-based job expectations, requirements, and interview questions - Create job descriptions to focus on “must haves” rather than inconsistent and exclusionary “nice to haves.” - Compose interview and candidate advocacy teams to showcase team chemistry and foster the momentum new hires need to achieve job success. - Articulate a consistent and compelling organizational narrative to attract candidates from a wide array of backgrounds and experiences. - Avoid the missteps of exclusion and bias that turn off great talent. Not only not the best way to find a job, this is exacly how homogeneity in the workplace continues. It's time to evolve to an Inclusive hiring process. Just say no to nepotism and cronyism! "While these connections are important, it’s important to note that they may not change one of the most problematic results of networking: relatively homogenous workplaces. Granovetter himself noticed that even if people were getting jobs through weak ties, networking wasn’t changing the makeup of companies. After all, if no one of color or from a working-class background was hired into an office, there were fewer people to spread the word that the job existed in the first place." #inclusionmatters #diversityatwork #diversityintheworkplace #diversityandinclusion #diversitymatters #diversityequityinclusion #inclusion #dei
