The recently opened Populus Hotel in Denver, CO is the country’s first carbon positive hotel. Developed by Urban Villages, designed by Studio Gang, and constructed/installed by The Beck Group/Douglass Colony Group the 265-room property blends nature-inspired design with environmentally conscious hospitality. The hotel incorporated a Hydrotech Garden Roof Assembly, designed/installed by Superbloom Landscape Architecture/GREEN ROOFS OF COLORADO LLC, that integrates native trees and vegetation to compliment the amenity deck for a more natural setting. The Ultimate Assembly was used at the rooftop restaurant and bar featuring glacier white pavers in an open joint pedestal paver configuration. Douglass Colony played a key role in constructing the United States Air Force Academy’s Falcon Stadium in Colorado, handling waterproofing, roofing, custom lettering, metal panels, and safety. Our team delivered specialized installations to meet the Air Force Academy's high standards, including Sika USA Sarnafil PVC roof system with a reflective gray membrane, a torch-applied vapor barrier to accelerate interior work, and precise custom “Falcon” lettering mapped with advanced technology. Additionally, we applied hot-applied rubberized asphalt to the exterior balconies, fabricated and installed exterior metal panels with an air barrier, created custom interior gutters, and erected scaffolding to support all trades. This project is a testament to our commitment to quality and innovation in construction, and we're proud to support the Air Force Academy’s vision for a top-tier stadium!
