Updates

  • Last week something special happened at our Marion County location -- our long-awaited expansion has begun! Construction crews have fenced off space and officially broken ground. Just five short days ago this was a parking lot full of cars! We are especially thankful to our donors, supporters and community partners for helping us get to this point. Because of your generosity, soon (relatively speaking) another 15 women will call Dove House home and begin their recovery journeys. This was the perfect end to a cold and snowy week. More updates to come!

  • A huge shoutout to our amazing board member, Jen Verkamp, for making holiday magic happen! Jen reached out to the French Lick Scenic Railway, and thanks to her, our Doves and their little ones got to experience the Polar Express together—complete with cozy pajamas and all the joy of the season. The smiles, laughter, and sense of togetherness made this a moment to remember. Thank you, Jen and French Lick Scenic Railway for going the extra mile to create such a special experience for our Dove family.

  • How do you measure growth? At Dove House, we measure it by the hope that grows within each woman who walks through our doors–women like Liz. They are moms, daughters, sisters, and friends. With your support, we’ve expanded our impact, served over 125 women this year, and are preparing to grow even further in 2025. Help us grow hope into even more lives. • We are so proud of Stephanie Breeden and Kristy Shene, CPRC-MH, CSPR-PR, CADAC II, CCHW, two of our incredible peer recovery coaches at Dove House, for being nominated for the Mental Health America of Indiana Recovery Coach of the Year award! Not only are they dedicated coaches, but they are also Dove alumnae who continue to inspire others through their commitment to recovery. While they may not have taken home the title, Stephanie and Kristy are truly some of the best in the biz. Their hard work, compassion, and drive to grow as recovery coaches make a difference every single day. Let’s show them some love in the comments below! 💜 Congratulations to all the nominees, winners, and especially to Stephanie and Kristy—you make Dove House proud! 🎉 #PeerRecovery #RecoveryCoaches #DoveHouse #InspiringHope

  • On Tuesday, December 3, we had the honor of celebrating our CEO Wendy Noe’s 10 years of leadership at Dove Recovery House for Women (officially marked on December 1) with a special alumnae reunion. 🎉 The evening was filled with warmth, laughter, and gratitude as we welcomed back so many strong and thriving Doves. The room was alive with squeals of joy as sisters in recovery reunited, sharing memories and stories of resilience. Several Dove alums who couldn’t attend in person sent heartfelt recorded messages, expressing their congratulations and gratitude to Wendy for the profound impact she and Dove House have had on their lives. 💛 Wendy’s decade of leadership has been a testament to compassion, vision, and dedication. Here’s to 10 years of transforming lives—and many more to come! #DoveHouse #10YearsOfHope #RecoveryJourney #CEO #Leadership

  • Recently, Mr. Earl Knust visited the Dubois County Dove House, which stands on what was once his boyhood home on Knust Street in Jasper, Indiana. He shared stories from the early 1940s, painting a picture of a rural area where his mother would provide food to vagabonds riding the rails behind the house. Hearing these memories was a reminder of the compassion rooted in this land. Today, Dove Recovery House for Women carries forward that legacy, offering free housing and recovery services to women impacted by substance use disorder. It seems this plot of land was always destined to be a place of care, hope, and healing. Thank you, Earl, for sharing your story and connecting us to the rich history of this community. 💛 #DuboisCounty #DoveHouse #KnustStreet
