Meet Sharon, our first #VolunteerSpotlight of 2025! For the past three years, Sharon has been a dedicated personal shopper at the Dorit & Ben J. Genet Cupboard of Goodman JFS, helping our clients access the essentials they need with care and compassion. From answering phones to bagging groceries and calling clients, she plays a vital role in creating a welcoming, supportive experience for everyone who visits the Cupboard. Watch as Sharon shares what inspires her to give back and why volunteering means so much to her, and join us in thanking Sharon for dedication and hard work! 💙 #Volunteer #DoingGOOD #CommunitySupport #BrowardCounty

A veteran and single mom of three was on the verge of homelessness after losing her job. With nowhere to turn, she was placed in a hotel by United Way of Broward County and referred to Goodman JFS for support. Through her efforts she was able to quickly secure new employment and find an apartment. After finding a safe and affordable apartment, our case manager worked tirelessly to inspect the unit, secure funding for the deposit, prorated second and last month’s rent, moving costs and even got Allen and Son Moving and Storage to step in on Christmas Eve. Thanks to this incredible effort the landlord handed over the keys just in time and the family’s belongings were moved into their new home. On Christmas Eve the mom surprised her kids by taking them to their new apartment where they were greeted by a fresh start and a stable home for the holidays. This life-changing moment was made possible through the dedication of our staff and the support of community partners like United Way of Broward County and Allen and Sons Moving Company. Together we helped this family find not just housing but hope and stability when they needed it most. 💙 #SuccessStory #Impact #MakingADifference #Veteran #CommunitySupport #BrowardCounty #DoingGOOD

Yesterday, the Joshua’s Path Disability Services BOOST program at Goodman JFS visited the NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale for a day filled with learning, creativity and connection. This special outing included a private tour of the museum, engaging conversations with staff and an interactive art project that fostered self-expression and collaboration. We are grateful to community partners like the NSU Art Museum for helping create opportunities for neurodivergent adults in our BOOST program to explore their interests, build relationships and thrive. Swipe to take a look at the photos and celebrate the power of art! #DisabilityServices #CommunityImpact #ArtForEveryone #InclusionMatters #BrowardCounty #NSUFlorida

#MeetTheTeam - Meet Sam Salver, our Joshua’s Path Disability Services Program Manager 👋 Here's a little bit about Sam in her own words: "What I enjoy most about working at Goodman JFS is being part of a mission to serve the most vulnerable people in our community. What sets us apart is that we all share a common purpose—it’s never about us; it’s about the community. Outside of work, I’m a regular at the dog park and I love spending time with friends and family. Fun fact: my daughter and I both share the initials 'SSS,' and she’s a third-generation Floridian!" We're so glad to have you as part of our team, Sam! 💙 #StaffSpotlight #CommunityImpact
