ℹ️ Did you know? The Department of Defense has clarified that CMMC Level 2 self-assessments are not sufficient for certain types of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). Here’s what you need to know: • 👉 Self-assessments apply only to limited cases – CMMC Level 2 (Self-Assessment) is allowed only for CUI outside the National Archive’s CUI Registry Defense Organizational Index Grouping. •👉 Certification is required for sensitive CUI – If a contract involves processing, storing, or transmitting critical data (e.g., Controlled Technical Information, DoD Critical Infrastructure Security Information), CMMC Level 2 (Certification) is mandatory.
