My name is Anna Jacobs, and I serve as the Executive Scientist at Dynamic Carbon Credits. My commitment to climate sustainability began dramatically at age 16 during one of the most formative experiences of my life. I was born and raised in Kuwait. On Wednesday, August 2, 1990, the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait—the beginning of the Gulf War—changed everything. I awoke to my mother's screams, initially fearing my grandmother had passed away. Instead, we faced the shocking reality that Saddam Hussein's regime and his Republican Guard had invaded our country. During the occupation, as a vulnerable 16-year-old, I witnessed countless atrocities. I was almost taken as a prisoner of war multiple times and narrowly escaped shrapnel from bombs while helping distribute papers from the Kuwaiti government to our people—small acts of resistance during those dark days. When Saddam Hussein was eventually forced to withdraw from Kuwait, his forces rigged the petroleum fields with explosives and nerve gas as a final act of environmental terrorism. The aftermath was devastating. The pollution was so severe that white clothing would turn black within seconds of exposure to the air. We were all inhaling these toxic substances daily. This environmental catastrophe led to widespread health issues—idiopathic neuropathy, multiple sclerosis appearing outside normal age ranges, and numerous other neurological conditions affecting not just Kuwaiti citizens but everyone in the region, including those stationed on military bases to protect the country. The sight of that blackened sky at 16 years old ignited something profound within me. Witnessing firsthand how greenhouse gas emissions and environmental pollution could devastate communities became my call to action. From that moment, I dedicated myself to environmental protection—starting with the basics of reducing, recycling, and reusing, and evolving into a career focused on addressing harmful GHG emissions. Now at 51, my journey has led me to Dynamic Carbon Credits, where we partner with organizations committed to reaching net zero emissions. If you're seeking solutions for your company's environmental impact, I invite you to join our mission. Together, we can make a significant difference in healing our planet from the greenhouse gas emissions we all produce. Please visit us at https://lnkd.in/gd9fSU5A and connect with me on LinkedIn. Let's work together toward a sustainable future.

🔍 ESG Under Fire—But Sustainability is Here to Stay Barron’s just released its 100 Most Sustainable Companies list, and despite growing anti-ESG sentiment, one thing is clear: the corporate world isn’t backing down. 🚀 🔹 Companies like Clorox, Prudential Financial, and Xylem are doubling down on sustainability—not just because it’s good for the planet, but because it drives efficiency, profitability, and resilience. 🔹 Even as legal challenges and political resistance grow, businesses recognize that clean energy, waste reduction, and strong governance lead to long-term success. 🔹 The key shift? Many firms are reframing ESG initiatives, focusing on “efficiency” and “risk management” rather than sustainability buzzwords. But the goals remain the same. For companies looking to lower their carbon footprint without the ESG controversy, solutions like carbon credits provide a way to meet emissions targets while maintaining financial and regulatory flexibility. 🌍 At Dynamic Carbon Credits, we provide practical, high-performance carbon solutions that help businesses meet sustainability goals—without the ESG controversy. Want to stay ahead in a shifting landscape? Let’s connect. 🤝 🔗 https://lnkd.in/g5eSd3n3 #Sustainability #ESG #CarbonCredits #BusinessGrowth #ClimateAction

🌍 Carbon Offsetting: A Solution or Just a Temporary Fix? A recent article by Kweku Yeboah Ansomaning raises a crucial debate: Is carbon offsetting a real climate solution, or just a way for companies to avoid cutting emissions? The concerns are valid—offsets can’t be a “get-out-of-jail-free card.” Too often, poorly designed projects fail to deliver real impact. At Dynamic Carbon Credits (DCC), we fully agree that offsetting must be done responsibly—as part of a broader sustainability strategy, not a substitute for emission reductions. That’s why our projects meet the strictest international standards (e.g., Verra VCS, CAR) and deliver real, measurable impact. 🔍 How do we ensure true climate action? We focus on additionality, meaning our projects generate carbon reductions that wouldn’t happen otherwise. Here’s how: ✅ Environmental Additionality – Projects must generate a net positive environmental impact that would not occur without the carbon offset initiative. This ensures the environmental benefits are real and measurable. ✅ Economic Additionality – Projects should be financially dependent on the revenue generated from carbon credits. This guarantees that the project is economically viable and would not be undertaken without this financial support. ✅ Social Additionality – Projects must deliver social benefits such as job creation, community development, or other positive social impacts. This ensures that the projects contribute to the well-being of local communities involved. Carbon offsetting is not the final solution—but when done right, it plays a critical role in the transition to a low-carbon world. Let’s make sure we do it the right way. 🌱 🔗 https://lnkd.in/g8RGUzV7 💬 What’s your take? Should businesses rely on offsets, or focus only on cutting emissions? Let’s discuss! 👇 #Sustainability #CarbonOffsetting #ClimateAction #NetZero
