We’ve all done it. Expected results before laying the foundation. Or asked someone to do too many things at once. Imagine this: It’s your new hire's first day. Before your new employee can do great work, they need training. They need to know your company’s goals, messaging, and expectations. AI works the same way. What if I told you the secret behind my AI-generated cat images isn’t AI at all? 🐾 It’s true—my biggest inspiration comes from the quirky, lovable creatures lounging around my home. Specifically, one feline muse who has mastered the art of expression: Bunty Windermere, aka Gerdy. If you’ve ever lived with a cat, you know they have an entire language of looks—mischief in their eyes, judgment in their stares, and pure joy in their stretches. Gerdy? She’s all of that and more. She’s curiosity incarnate, with hundreds of expressions that could rival a silent film star. And while I LOVE and obsess over all my cats (yes, I’m a proud cat parent of many), Gerdy is the one who keeps me on my creative toes. Her energy is contagious. Her curiosity? Endless. Whether she’s watching the birds, smelling every cooking ingredient, sitting like a loaf with the most unimpressed face, or side-eyeing me for interrupting her nap—Gerdy is an endless source of inspiration for my AI creations. When I work with AI to create anthropomorphic cat images, I draw from her spirit: ✨ Her curiosity inspires playful designs. ✨Her expressiveness reminds me to capture personality, not just form. ✨And her quirky antics? Those drive the fun, whimsical touches that make these AI-generated cats feel alive. Gerdy is proof that creativity doesn’t just happen in front of a screen—it’s all around us, often curled up on the couch or pawing at your leg for snacks. The biggest AI infrastructure project in history, the $500 billion "Stargate Project," just broke ground YESTERDAY in MY little hometown, Abilene, Texas! Y'all who know me know how much I love Abilene—to me, it's always been the center of the universe. Now, with the Stargate Project, it's officially becoming the center of the AI universe too! This is personal for me because it’s not just a milestone for the AI industry—it’s a turning point for the heart of West Texas. Abilene has always been where ambition meets opportunity. Growing up there, I witnessed the grit and resilience that shaped our community. Now, those same traits are turning Abilene into a beacon of technological innovation. This project is the modern-day equivalent of the Chisholm Trail. Back in the Wild West, Abilene was where cattle drives ended and economic opportunity began. Today, instead of cattle, Abilene will be driving data and laying down a technological highway instead of a dusty trail. 🎨 How Furniture Upholstery Led Me to AI Consulting 🤖 Did you know that a love for custom furniture could spark a career in artificial intelligence? Neither did I. But here’s how it happened: In 2018, two years after I closed my beloved estate sales business due to Lyme Disease, I was ready to create something new. I’ve always adored beautiful fabrics and custom furniture, so I joined Texas’s only upholstery program in Texas at Tarrant County College. Yep, right here in Funkytown. After a few years in classes and working at a furniture factory and a couple shops, I realized something: I loved upholstery, but I didn’t want to make a business out of it. I would do it as a hobby. Welp, upholstery is a BIG hobby and takes up a lot of space. I wanted to find something that didn't overwhelm our smallish house. Fast forward to 2022, and I found MidJourney v1. This incredible tool let me create images by simply describing them with words. The images were so weird at first! But I was addicted. Teaching myself how to use words to make the images was really an obsession. Then came 2024, a life-changing seminar in Las Vegas with the incredible Marshall Sylver. There, I met my mentor, Jeff J Hunter who shared how AI revolutionized his virtual assistant business. A lightbulb went off. 💡 Could I turn my fascination with AI into a business? I signed up for Jeff’s AI Consultant Certification program, and now here I am—speaking weekly, building custom AI solutions, and showing people how AI can amplify their voices and brands and simply their workday. What could be better? Oh, and upholstery? It’s still a beloved hobby. In fact, here are the two chairs I finished this week: 🪑 The antique rocker needed its springs reinstalled and 8-way retied. When we dropped it off, our client told us it was the chair he rocked his girls in when they were babies. So sweet. ❤️ 💙 The blue chair? It’s mine. The fabric is Schumacher Mohair—the most expensive fabric in my house, hence not a lot of it! Like velvet, the cats can’t claw mohair, but it DOES collect fur. I added some leftover Robert Allen fabric for the double welt cord. It looks fun.
