We are feeling energized as the ISSA - International Step by Step Association’s Annual Conference kicks off. Over the next two days, we look forward to exploring what it takes to transform systems that impact our youngest children, and diving into the transformative work of colleagues from across Europe and Central Asia, as well as others who have joined from around the world. #ISSA2024

Early Childhood Regional Networks Fund reposted this
We are excited to share that the Van Leer Foundation has joined the Steering Committee of the Early Childhood Regional Networks Fund. 🌐 The ECRN Fund is a collective philanthropic initiative dedicated to strengthening networks that champion early childhood development worldwide. By investing in these networks, we enable a wider chain of impact—extending from the organisations involved to the communities, families, and young children they serve in 100+ countries. As part of this pooled fund, we are proud to collaborate with our peers from the Oak Foundation, Porticus, Open Society Foundations, The Human Safety Net and the Two Lilies Fund. We've just wrapped up our Annual Meeting alongside the Asia-Pacific Regional Network for Early Childhood (ARNEC)'s Regional Conference for Early Childhood Development in Penang, Malaysia. 🇲🇾 Through our sessions, we've gained new perspectives on how to engage fathers and men in the earliest years of a child's life, and we've explored the ways that national and regional ECD networks catalyse action to drive impact in policy and practice. Best of all: we have laughed and eaten our way through it together. Cheers to a great conference and to powerful conversations! Together with partners, ARNEC will continue to elevate #ECD as a cost-effective investment to achieve climate resilience and sustainable development. ECD-sensitive #climatefinancing 🔔 is a key enabler! The Resource Pack includes: ✅ ECD-Climate COP28 brief with key asks (3 pages) https://bit.ly/3MSygeS ✅ Framework for Action (2 pages) https://bit.ly/3MQapww ✅ Air pollution in early childhood advocacy brief with call to actions (10 pages) https://bit.ly/47H0Wzo 📍 Bhutan: Perception survey of children, parents, early childhood educators on ECD-Climate (4 pages) https://bit.ly/49MCWNt 📍 India: Smokeless kitchens with cleaner cooking fuels (4 pages) https://bit.ly/46lYayA 📍 Pakistan: Perception in flood-affected communities (5 pages) https://bit.ly/3QPrV50 📍 Philippines: Implications to early childhood program delivery in typhoon-affected communities (5 pages) https://bit.ly/3SMMv8Q Nearly 90% of the global health burden related to #climatechange is borne by children under five. Young children in climate-vulnerable #AsiaPacific face an unequal burden from the impacts of climate change and environmental degradation. This is unacceptable and urgent actions are needed. #ECD4Resilience #Ourchildrensfuture #climateactions #climatejustice Asia-Pacific Regional Network for Early Childhood (ARNEC) Save the Children International UNICEF East Asia and Pacific Bernard van Leer Foundation UOW Early Start Vital Strategies Joan Lombardi Early Childhood Development Action Network (ECDAN) Plan International UNESCO
