About us

Earth4All is a global collective of scientists, economists, communicators, advocates, with the will to act. The dominant economic thinking and its underlying model are destabilising societies. And the planet. It is time for a change. Earth4All has identified five extraordinary turnarounds needed to create wellbeing for all on a (relatively) stable planet. This analysis combines the best available science with new economic thinking. Five turnarounds to rethink capitalism, move beyond GDP, and bring our societies on a safe pathway to wellbeing for all. We are ready to break with the past, old ideas, and imagine another world. Get involved via https://www.earth4all.life/ !

📈 Rethinking Finance for Wellbeing and Planetary Boundaries 🌍 The Club of Rome’s Rethinking Finance Impact Hub is spearheading an essential transformation in the financial sector, reimagining it as a catalyst for wellbeing within the Earth’s natural limits. This initiative focuses on leveraging short-term policies to foster long-term systemic change, setting the stage for a future where finance truly serves people and planet. Over the past year in partnership with the European Investment Bank (EIB), the hub formed an agreement for a new event series, “From Financing Innovation to Innovating Finance.” Through public and private collaboration, this series addresses the transformative potential of both sectors to reshape finance toward a fair and regenerative economy. Alongside the Earth4All initiative, The Club of Rome has is working with the Beyond Bretton Woods initiative on a new report - Investing for an Equitable Global Balance Sheet. 🌎 What do we know about people’s attitudes to planetary stewardship? The Global Commons Survey, conducted for Earth4All and Global Commons Alliance by Ipsos UK this year, revealed five "planetary stewardship segments" according to the beliefs, motivations and concerns of citizens across the globe. We found that a full 61% of people surveyed are planetary stewards, progressives, and optimists who understand the risks of climate change and want action to protect our planet, while just a small minority oppose this. But there is a large segment who remain unengaged. Dive into what we learned from the planetary steward segmentation and why it matters in Owen Gaffney's blog ⏩ https://lnkd.in/dsG2xSuh

In an age where consumerism and trends such as #BlackFriday prevail, we invite you to rethink consumption and focus on how we can operate within Earth's natural limits to create a more sustainable and equitable future. In this insightful TED Conferences Talk, Gaya Herrington, member of The Club of Rome, shares actionable strategies for rethinking our economic and social systems. She proposes a shift in thinking from "never enough" to "enough for each," asking us to contemplate whether the end of exponential growth on a finite planet will come by our own design — or disaster. Her talk highlights the critical role of systems thinking in navigating the complex challenges of our time. Her vision is essential for creating a world where both people and the planet can thrive. 🌍 Transforming Economics for People and Planet🌍 The Reframing Economics Impact Hub seeks to challenge traditional economic models that prioritise unlimited growth and consumption, and instead explore and co-create policies that respect the natural limits of our environment. In the last year Earth4All took its vision of to the national level, with impactful initiatives in Kenya and Austria. The launch in Austria, featuring President Alexander Van der Bellen brought powerful momentum to call for a “Giant Leap” toward economic reform. Initiatives in Germany and Argentina are now following suit, adapting Earth4All models to address unique local challenges and inspire meaningful policy action. Global change also requires a united approach. At the United Nations' Summit of the Future, Earth4All presented the #SDGs for All report, urging urgent economic reform to meet the Sustainable Development Goals by 2050. Collaborating with the UN Futures Lab, we’re tackling critical questions in Africa and Latin America, making sure no region is left behind in this transformative journey.
