EarthSense is delighted to announce that we have completed the the major stage of a project to validate the use of TerraPreta robots to plant camelina cover-cropping in corn fields. Funded by the highly selective Shell GameChanger program, we successfully achieved and exceeded the milestone targets for camelina emergence, including in herbicide treated fields. In addition, we showed that the camelina planting had no effect on corn yields. TerraPreta robots planted camelina through September and October 2024 and yielded promising results, opening up the possibility of an additional US$ 450/acre in financial value for row crop farmers. Planting biofuels feedstock as cover crops also provides environmental benefits by allowing fields to remain planted and productive year-round thus improving soil organic matter, field productivity, and climate resilience. This is yet another proof that EarthSense's Terra family of solutions are designed for practical use in large-scale agriculture.
