Chemical giants Yara and Enbridge earn a spot on the Naughty List for their proposed Project YaREN ammonia plant in Ingleside, Texas. Marketed as "clean," this facility threatens local sea grasses, coastlines, and air quality with ammonia, VOCs, and greenhouse gases—all without continuous air monitoring to protect residents. 😷💨 Learn more about Yara and Enbridge’s dangerous plans 🔗 https://lnkd.in/g4euvMhj Ammonia exposure can cause severe lung damage or even death, yet permits are being sought to pollute this fragile area. Coastal wildlife and communities shouldn’t be sacrificed for corporate profit. Residents deserve clean air, transparent monitoring, and protection from harmful industries. #NaughtyList #StopYaREN #ProtectIngleside

😡 Air Products is next on the Naughty List, whose proposed $7 billion ammonia plant and carbon dioxide pipeline in Sorrento, Louisiana, is sparking outrage. Located just 2,000 feet from a primary school, the plant would emit 66 tons of ammonia per year and pose severe risks to vulnerable communities. Residents are fighting back against increased emissions, toxic exposure, and potential evacuation chaos, all while Air Products claims to prioritize "community support." 🌍💰 Despite false promises of economic benefits, local opposition has been fierce. Residents and advocacy groups packed a public hearing, raising concerns about health risks, safety hazards, and the lack of adequate public notification. Should profits come at the cost of children’s health and community safety? 🪫California needs to get EV battery recycling right!🔋 Sheila Davis from GAIA (Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives) highlights why California’s Governor Newsom was right to veto a flawed bill on EV battery recycling. The state needs stronger definitions, accountability, and prioritization of reuse over harmful practices like incineration. As California prepares for a revised 2025 version, the state can take key steps to ensure it leads with environmental justice and zero waste principles in the clean energy transition. 🔗bit.ly/gaia-sb615 #EVBattery #JustTransition #BatteryRecycling

⚒️ Barrick Gold: Displacing Communities, Destroying Trust 😡 Next on the Naughty List is Barrick Gold, a mining company with a reputation for oppressive practices that devastate communities from the Dominican Republic to Papua New Guinea. At the Pueblo Viejo mine, Barrick is pushing for a second mine waste dam that would force the relocation of hundreds of families across six communities. Since early November, these communities have resisted Barrick’s attempts, setting up protest camps to block heavy equipment and standing strong against intimidation by armed soldiers. 🚧 ⚠️ Despite commitments to fair relocation, residents report threats, unjust compensation for vital crops like cacao, and families excluded from resettlement plans altogether. Communities demand adherence to World Bank relocation standards, transparency, and just compensation. Their courageous resistance continues, despite Barrick’s militarized response and failure to honor agreements. Find out how these communities are fighting back and why Barrick Gold earned its spot on the Naughty List below! 🌍💡 Learn more here 🔗➡️https://lnkd.in/gHEqdXJV #NaughtyList #StopBarrickGold #EnvironmentalJustice

Next on the Naughty List is Big Oil—all of them. From Shell to ExxonMobil, industry leaders remain the greatest obstacle to action on climate justice. While they’ve issued statements claiming support for methane regulations, their actions tell a different story. Behind the scenes, Big Oil is fighting at every turn to delay vital EPA methane rules, putting profits over people and climate. 💰😡 These companies have walked back their climate commitments, expanded oil production, and stayed silent as their counterparts wage legal battles to halt methane reductions. The facts are clear: Big Oil’s business model hasn’t changed. Every delay is another blow to our planet and frontline communities. Trust their actions, not their words. Learn more about Big Oil’s tactics and why they’re on our Naughty List below! 💪🌱 Read more here 📝➡️ https://lnkd.in/gCWGQEQi #NaughtyList #ClimateJustice #BigOilExposed

With states now required to submit methane reduction plans to the EPA, this is a critical moment—especially in Texas, where regulators are accepting public feedback until Dec. 31. During his first term, Trump reversed a methane reduction rule, delaying progress on cutting harmful emissions. With growing oil industry support for these regulations, experts believe the current rule could stand firm, no matter the political shifts. ⚠️ Prospect Energy: Polluting, Poisoning, and Packing Up 🛢️ Next on the Naughty List is Prospect Energy, a chronic polluter in Larimer County, Colorado, whose toxic emissions left residents sick and the environment poisoned. For years, Prospect ignored complaints while spewing harmful pollution into the air. But thanks to the relentless efforts of Earthworks and the local community, this bad actor is finally being forced to shut down, leave the state, and clean up its mess. 👋🧳 It took over 64 surveys, 14 complaints, and irrefutable Optical Gas Imaging footage to expose Prospect’s harmful emissions. This is a major win for Larimer County residents who can now breathe cleaner air, but it’s also a reminder that communities across the U.S. are still fighting polluters like Prospect Energy.
