We're proud to share three East Hartford public schools were recently named “Schools of Distinction” by the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) for their high performance and growth. Connecticut IB Academy (CIBA) was one of only 69 schools statewide that received this distinction for High Performance. Congratulations to our three EHPS Health & Physical Education teachers who were honored last night for earning statewide awards from the CT Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (CTAHPERD)! -Gianna Ehrlich, East Hartford High School, High School Health Teacher of the Year -Ricardo Gibson, East Hartford Middle School, Middle School Physical Education Teacher of the Year -Ryan Jalbert, Goodwin Elementary, Adapted Physical Education Teacher of the Year The award recipients were recognized during CTAHPERD's annual conference. The organization also recognized the district's work around the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child model, naming it an "Outstanding Program."
